Clint Black & Trace Atkins Hit The Road Together

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Two country music icons will make a triumphant return to the stage together as part of the Hits. Hats. History. Tour. Pre-sale tickets go on sale March 5, with all remaining tickets going on sale March 8 at 10 a.m. (local time).

The Hits. Hats. History. Tour kicks off May 2 in Charlotte, North Carolina and travels to nine different cities through August 9, with additional dates announced in the coming weeks. This summer tour will get that much hotter via the addition of a series of special guest artists such as Terri Clark, John Berry and Craig Campbell.

“It’s been a few years since Clint and I shared the stage,” explains Trace Adkins, a three-time GRAMMY nominated BBR recording artist. “Since then, we have both been fortunate to have added a few more hits, and hats to our collection. Looking forward to this!”

“Trace and I toured together back in the 90s and I’m really looking forward to sharing the stage with him again!” said Black, a GRAMMY award winner and one of the most successful singer/songwriters of the modern era.  “He’s a lot of fun and a real pro.”

In addition to the Hits. Hats. History. Tour, Black will launch his “Still Killin’ Time 30th Anniversary Tour” in March to celebrate the 30th Anniversary of his triple platinum, seminal album, Killin’ Time.  To this day, it is recognized as one of country music’s most authoritative recordings, it’s influence still heard on many of the recordings that have followed.

Adkins is also on the road this summer as part of his current Don’t Stop Tour 2019. Currently, the “You’re Gonna Miss This” hit-maker is out with his “Hillbilly Bone” buddy Blake Shelton as part of his Friends & Heroes 2019 Tour, which concludes March 23 in New York. And while the Grand Ole Opry member certainly has much on his plate as of late, he is still set to lend his voice to the character of Robert in the forthcoming “Dally & Spanky,” due out later in 2019.

About Clint Black

It is one of the most storied careers in modern music. Clint Black surged to superstardom as part of the fabled Class of ’89, reaching #1 with five consecutive singles from his triple-platinum debut, Killin’ Time. He followed that with the triple-platinum Put Yourself in My Shoes, and then a string of platinum and gold albums throughout the ’90s. Perhaps most impressively, Clint wrote or co-wrote every one of his more than three dozen chart hits, including “A Better Man,” “Where Are You Now,” “When My Ship Comes In,” “A Good Run of Bad Luck,” “Summer’s Comin’,” “Like the Rain” and “Nothin’ But the Taillights,” part of a catalog that produced 22 #1 singles and made him one of the most successful singer/songwriters of the modern era.  Along the way, Clint has sold over 20 million records, earned more than a dozen gold and platinum awards in the U.S. and Canada, landed nearly two dozen major awards and nominations, won a GRAMMY Award, and earned a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

TRACE ADKINS RETURNS WITH “JESUS AND JONES” ON BBR MUSIC GROUP’S WHEELHOUSE RECORDS

image

Trace Adkins is back with “Jesus and Jones,” a song about walking the line between temptation and good intentions. It’s Adkins’ first single with Wheelhouse Records, part of the BBR Music Group, and was written by Jim McCormick, Casey Beathard and Tyler Farr. The official lyric video is now live and the song will be available across all digital retailers and streaming partners this Friday, January 8th.

Watch the official lyric video for “Jesus and Jones” HERE.

Prior to the holidays, a live recording of the song appeared online and TasteofCountry.com observed, “Adkins’ return hardly comes hat in hand. Physically and sonically he’s a leaner version of the singer that returned to rehab in 2014, but no less aggressive. With “Jesus and Jones” he’s doubled-down on roughneck with no promises that he won’t cross that line again.”

In a special email to fans with a limited-time free download of the new song, Trace stated, “this is our first single off a new album that’ll come out later this year. This is a song that’s auto-biographical. The first thing I ever did behind a microphone was singing bass in a gospel quartet. At the same time, I was playing guitar and singing in honky tonks, so, that’s when the struggle began…the wrestling match between ‘Jesus’ and ‘Jones’ and I still struggle with that.”

Like its subject matter, the uptempo, hard-driving song juxtaposes Adkins’ rich baritone with Gospel choirs, electric guitars and lyrics both pious and risqué. The song opens with a confession: “I’m the last one standing every Saturday night, all the rights feel wrong and the wrongs feel right but every Sunday morning I see the light again.” Later, it struggles with walking the line: “I need to find some middle ground between let ‘er rip and settling down, but I go from dry to drowned, lost to found, stone cold sober to just plain stoned.”

ABOUT TRACE ADKINS:

Trace Adkins’ trademark baritone has powered countless hits to the top of the charts and sold over 10 million albums, cumulatively. His hit list includes “You’re Gonna Miss This,” “Ladies Love Country Boys,” “Songs About Me,” “Every Light In The House,” “Hillbilly Bone (Blake Shelton & Trace Adkins),” and “Just Fishin’,” to name a few. Trace kicked off 2016 with the release of “Jesus and Jones,” his first single with BBR Music Group’s Wheelhouse Records. The Grammy-nominated member of the Grand Ole Opry is a TV personality, actor, author, spokesman for the Wounded Warrior Project and the American Red Cross, for whom he raised over $1.5 million dollars as winner of NBC’s All-Star Celebrity Apprentice. Thus far, Adkins has performed 11 USO Tours.

In his 2007 autobiography, A Personal Stand: Observations and Opinions from a Freethinking Roughneck, the former oil-rigger recounted his rise to fame, brushes with death, and battles with personal demons. Trace has played a tough as nails biker in The Lincoln Lawyer (starring Matthew McConaughey) and a wise tattoo artist in the family-friendly Moms’ Night Out (starring Patricia Heaton, Sean Astin, Sarah Drew).

Album Review: Trace Adkins’ ‘Love Will…’

Trace AdkinsFans of that smooth, deep baritone voice that can only belong to Trace Adkins won’t be disappointed in the newest release to hit stores entitled ‘Love Will…’.

This 11-track album has an overall theme that shows a little softer side of the country hitmaker, and still leans towards a more traditional country sound that you’ve come to expect from Trace.

My favorite off the album is the poignant ballad featuring Colbie Caillat called “Watch The World End”; a song about two lovers lamenting over what they would do if the world was coming to an end.  I, also, thoroughly enjoyed “Come See Me”; another ballad that will have all the ladies swooning as Trace sings “just let me be your everything.  Come see me.  I want to love you.” Continue Reading →
