BRANTLEY GILBERT has quietly built himself into a back-to-back platinum selling underdog. By tapping into the gut of the outlier, the roughneck, the downhome and the downtrodden, the songwriter/rocker from Jefferson, Georgia has written songs torn from their lives – and delivered hard hitting performances that made his TAKE IT OUTSIDE TOUR one of the summer’s biggest tours. BRANTLEY GILBERT announces the rescheduling of his European BLACKOUT TOUR dates for early May. After kicking off his global run with a sold-out show November 11 at Melkweg in Amsterdam and playing Hamburg’s Fabrik and Munich’s Technikum, the outlier songwriter opted to cancel the remainder of his dates in Europe in the wake of the Paris terrorist attacks that stunned the world. In many ways, platinum Country heavyweight BRANTLEY GILBERT is an outlier. The Georgia-born-and-remaining songwriter came to town to celebrate his #1 “One Hell Of An Amen” with co-writers and good friends Brian Davis and Mike Dekle – and gave an emotional speech that not only left the crowd at South visibly moved, but underscored his commitment to people living lives like the one he leads when he’s not touring the country.
BRANTLEY GILBERT paid a humbling homage to the five courageous fallen military members yesterday during CHATTANOOGA UNITE: A TRIBUTE ON THE RIVER. More than 80,000 people flocked to the riverfront for the event including the families of U.S. Marine Gunnery Sgt. Thomas Sullivan, U.S Marine Staff Sgt. David Wyatt, U.S. Marine Sgt. Carson Holmquist, U.S. Marine Lance Corporal Skip Wells and U.S. Navy Petty Officer Randall Smith. The multi-platinum selling singer/songwriter closed the day-long event with #1 hits like “Country Must Be Country Wide”, 2X Platinum “Bottoms Up” and Gold-certified “One Hell of an Amen”. Trace Adkins, Colt Ford and Aaron Lewis joined Brantley on the esteemed Riverbend barge stage to share their appreciation for those who risk their well being every day to protect our freedoms.
Brantley Gilbert believes his albums are the chapters of his life and each continues the story where the last left off. With his third studio album JUST AS I AM (The Valory Music Co.), Brantley adds “best seller” to his growing list of accolades upon selling over 211,000 copies in the first week, owning the Billboard Country Albums chart with a #1 debut and becoming the second highest Country debut this year. Brantley’s first new music in over four years also scored a spot at No. 2 on the all-genre Billboard Top 200 chart, just behind Coldplay.
JUST AS I AM has received much critical acclaim from top critics at high-profile media outlets:
New York Times: “Mr. Gilbert is a unique sort of brute. In a country era where hardness isn’t valorized in the least, he’s unapologetically rough, singing with the tenderness of a chain saw. And on this strong album — his third in a row — he betrays no shame about his creatine-fueled version of country music…”
Associated Press: “Everybody in Nashville has been predicting Brantley Gilbert will be the next big thing in country music for a couple of years now. His new album, the long-awaited “Just as I Am,” is engineered to make that little bit of soothsaying a reality.”
To launch the highly-anticipated record, Brantley combined his passions – music, motorcycles and military – partnering with Harley-Davidson and Folds of Honor for a six-day trek from Athens, GA, to Arlington, VA. To help honor some of our nation’s heroes, names of fallen soldiers adorned a tour bus that also made the journey. Brantley started the celebration with a sold-out concert at the Georgia Theatre, a venue the Georgia native had always dreamed of selling out, and did early in his career. The Georgia native made stops along the way to perform acoustic sets and sign autographs at various Best Buy, Harley-Davidson and Walmart retail locations. The ride culminated on Memorial Day at Arlington National Cemetery where Brantley had the honor of laying a wreath on the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier with Folds of Honor scholarship recipient Sarah White. See highlights from the week here.
The album’s lead single, “Bottoms Up,” previously scored the #1 spot on both Country radio charts and has been certified Platinum by the RIAA for sales exceeding 1 million digital downloads.
Featuring labelmates Justin Moore and Thomas Rhett, Brantley’s next single “Small Town Throwdown” was the “most added” at Country radio last week with nearly 80 stations on.
JUST AS I AM follows Brantley’s previous Platinum-certified album HALFWAY TO HEAVEN.
Revving up for his new album JUST AS I AM (The Valory Music Co.) on May 19, Brantley Gilbert will embark on a motorcycle ride from Athens, GA, to Arlington, VA. Both Harley-Davidson and military charity Folds of Honor will partner with the chart-topper for a six-day trek, beginning May 21. Brantley will sign autographs at select stops along the journey and share new music with fans, performing at multiple locations, including The Georgia Theater where it all began for the Georgia native.
“As a long-time Harley-Davidson rider and enthusiast, I am beyond excited to have their support to ensure this ride is a success,” said Brantley.
A supporter of Folds of Honor, Brantley joined the organization earlier this month to help honor some of our nation’s heroes. By visiting www.brantleygilbert.com. fans were invited to submit names of military family & friends who have lost their lives serving our country. Upon verification, the names will appear on a tour bus wrap that will accompany Brantley from Athens to Arlington. Chart-topping country music star Brantley Gilbert will get fans pumped for the Coca-Cola 600 with a special 45-minute frontstretch pre-race concert presented by Coca-Cola and the USO on Sunday, May 25 at Charlotte Motor Speedway.
Gilbert will amp up the energy, performing “Bottoms Up” and more new songs from his upcoming album JUST AS I AM (The Valory Music Co.), slated for release on May 19. The lead single topped the Country airplay charts and has scored the No. 1 spot on the iTunes Country Singles Chart, already selling more than 1 million downloads while the accompanying video boasts more than 14.2 million views. Fans can also sing along to chart-topping, GOLD-certified hits “Country Must Be Country Wide” and “You Don’t Know Her Like I Do.”
“I can definitely relate to the high-adrenaline NASCAR crowds. Music and racing fans have a lot in common – they’re pretty rowdy and diehard! It’s no wonder I’ve loved both my whole life,” said Gilbert. “The fastest half-mile track in Georgia was literally five minutes from my house growing up and we were always there. My dad even worked on a racing team in the Hooter’s [Pro] Cup Series for a while. I love the smell of gas, the motor and the tires. Being able to play a show for like-minded people and having them party their tails off at the same time is going to be a blast … I can’t wait for Charlotte Motor Speedway!”
Gilbert has racked up four No. 1 singles, impressive album sales of more than 1 million and multiple award show nominations from the CMA, ACM, ACA & CMT Music Awards. In 2013, he won the ACM for New Male Artist. As a celebrated songwriter, he has also penned No. 1 songs – “My Kinda Party,” “Dirt Road Anthem,” “Country Must Be Country Wide” and “You Don’t Know Her Like I Do.”
For just $99, fans can get a Coca-Cola 600 weekend ticket package with a frontstretch ticket to the race, delivering the best views of the Brantley Gilbert concert on Sunday, May 25.
The weekend package also includes a ticket to LiftMaster Pole Night and the Saturday afternoonHISTORY 300 NASCAR Nationwide Series race. Tickets can be purchased by calling the speedway ticket office at 1-800-455-FANS (3267) or online at www.charlottemotorspeedway.com.
