Carrie Underwood Celebrates 27th Number One “Southbound” With BMI And ASCAP

BMI and ASCAP gathered alongside industry executives, friends and family to celebrate Carrie Underwood’s No. 1 hit “Southbound” at BMI’s Nashville office tonight. Written by BMI songwriters Underwood and Josh Miller and ASCAP’s David Garcia, the track marks Underwood’s 27th No. 1 and her 14th as a co-writer. Though packed, the celebration felt intimate, with heartfelt congratulations from BMI’s Jody Williams, ASCAP’s Kele Currier and Universal’s Cindy Mabe, as well as the writers’ respective publishers from Cornman Music, Universal Music Publishing and Spirit Music Group. Underwood will host the CMA Awards for the 12th consecutive year this November, and has been nominated for three awards, including “Female Vocalist of the Year”, “Album of the Year”, and “Entertainer of the Year”.

Luke Combs And Co-Writers Celebrate “Hurricane”

Luke Combs joined his BMI co-writers Thomas Archer and Taylor Phillips at downtown Nashville’s ACME Feed and Seed to celebrate their two-week No. 1 PLATINUM-certified hit. Yesterday’s celebration was an especially momentous occasion as the single marks the first No.1 for Combs, Archer and Thomas. Friends, family and Nashville industry gathered to commemorate the success of “Hurricane” as the first debut artist single to top the chart for multiple weeks since Florida Georgia Line’s “Cruise” and the first debut solo male to accomplish the task since Darius Rucker in 2008.

Friends, family and fans of Lauren Alaina packed the Sutler May 24 in a “number onesie” celebration for BMI singer-songwriter Lauren Alaina and the co-writers of her #1 hit “Road Less Traveled.” Written with BMI writer Jesse Frasure and ASCAP writer Meghan Trainor, the song hit #1 last month. “Road Less Traveled” is also the title track of an upcoming movie starring Lauren and featuring six original songs written and performed by the rising star.

Keith Urban And Songwriters Celebrate #1 Single “Blue Ain’t Your Color”

Keith Urban celebrated his most recent #1 hit single, “Blue Ain’t Your Color” with songwriters: Clint Lagerberg, Hillary Lindsey, and Steven Lee Olsen recently at Nashville’s The Basement East to a packed crowd of friends, family, and music industry.

Urban dubbed this song “the sexiest” song he has had to date.

Brett Eldredge And Writers Celebrate #1 “Wanna Be That Song”

One of Nashville’s best new bars, The Back Corner, was filled with friends and family of Brett Eldredge and the cowriters of his sixth consecutive #1 hit, “Wanna Be That Song,” Wednesday, April 5. Written by Brett, Ross Copperman, and Scooter Carusoe, the track is the third single from Brett’s sophomore album Illinois. Brett has tour dates scheduled through October, crisscrossing the country and giving fans plenty of opportunities to catch his energetic live show.

Keith Urban’s Chart-Topping, ACM Awards-Nominated Hit “Blue Ain’t Your Color” Celebrated In Nashville

Music Row friends and family packed The Basement East to celebrate the team behind the ACM Awards Song of the Year nominated Keith Urban hit single, “Blue Ain’t Your Color.” The tune marked eighteenth chart-topper for songwriter Hillary Lindsey and the second for co-writer Clint Lagerberg, while songwriter-artist Steven Lee Olsen celebrated his very first #1 song. Lindsey is also nominated for the ACM’s Songwriter of the Year award, while Urban is up for ACM awards in four additional categories: Entertainer, Male Vocalist, Album and Single of the Year.

The celebration kicked off with a live performance of “Blue Ain’t Your Color” by Urban, the songwriters and producer/guitarist Dann Huff, followed by a long line of music industry well-wishers who took to the mic to offer their congratulations, including publishers BMG’s Daniel Lee, Cornman Music’s Nate Lowery, Sea Gayle Music’s Marc Driskill, Spirit Music’s Daniel Hill and Warner/Chappell’s Ben Vaughn; and Urban’s label home Capitol/UMG Nashville’s Mike Dungan. Hosted by ASCAP’s Mike Sistad and Beth Brinker, the party was sponsored in part by First Tennessee Bank.

BMI & ASCAP Celebrate Cole Swindell and the Writers Of ‘Middle Of A Memory’

Warner Music Nashville’s office was packed Tuesday, February 28, with fans, friends and the industry notables celebrating “Middle of a Memory,” which hit number one on the country charts. Written by ASCAP songwriters Zach Crowell and Ashley Gorley with BMI artist Cole Swindell, it is the second single from Swindell’s second studio album You Should Be Here and his 6th career number one as an artist.

‘A Guy With A Girl’ Celebration Held By BMI & ASCAP

The Sutler Saloon was packed February 28 in celebration of Blake Shelton and the writers of “Guy with a Girl.” The chart-topping song was written by BMI songwriter Bryan Simpson and ASCAP songwriter Ashley Gorley and is the fourth single off Shelton’s tenth studio album If I’m Honest. Shelton has a stacked lineup of tours throughout the spring and summer, hitting everywhere from Kentucky to Colorado.

WILLIAM MICHAEL MORGAN’S DEBUT #1 CELEBRATED IN NASHVILLE

 

A capacity crowd of friends, family, and Music Row insiders packed Nashville venue South on Monday, January 30th to celebrate the team behind Warner Music Nashville recording artist William Michael Morgan‘s debut #1 single, “I Met A Girl,” co-written by hit songwriters Sam Hunt, Shane McAnally and Trevor Rosen. The tune marked the 7th chart-topper for MCA songwriter/recording artist Hunt, the 25th for prolific writer/producer McAnally, and the 6th for Rosen, who is a songwriter/artist member of the band Old Dominion. “I Met A Girl” publishers Old Gringo Music, Rehits Music, SmackSongs and Universal Music, as well as producers Scott Hendricks and Jimmy Ritchey, were also on hand to congratulate the group. ASCAP Senior Creative Director Mike Sistad and Creative Manager Beth Brinker hosted the party, sponsored by First Tennessee Bank.
