Show Review: Green River Ordinance at Exit/In

FOCUS was invited to attend the show by Green River Ordinance at Exit/In in Nashville on September 29th.  Neither Matt nor I had ever had the opportunity to see them perform live and have only recently become familiar with their music.  What did we think of the show? Simply put: these guys are the real deal! What a treat to see them perform live! Honestly, one of the best shows I’ve seen all year.  Excellent musicianship, great stage presence, and radio-friendly alternative rock songs with lyrics filled with depth and meaning.  Not only that, these are just good, humble artists from Texas who have just recently made the move to Nashville. New & Noteworthy: Colby Dee

Tonight I had the opportunity to see a new country artist, Colby Dee, performing at Judge’s (1805 Church St.) in Nashville.  I had never heard her music and didn’t know quite what to expect when I was invited out to see her perform by a friend.

Most of the songs she sang were original with a couple of covers thrown in since that’s what’s expected when playing out at some venues.  Colby’s got a great stage presence–very comfortable and personable with a very strong voice.  One of the covers she did was by Carrie Underwood “Good Girl”.  It’s one of my favorites and if you are going to perform a Carrie Underwood song, you better be up to the task BECAUSE Continue Reading →
