George Jones Museum Opens!

Some of the biggest stars in country music turned out for a red carpet event Thursday, April 23, to commemorate the grand opening of the George Jones Museum, celebrating the life and work of one of the icons of country music. More than 800 people turned out for the gala event.

VINCE VAUGHN TO RECEIVE THE “KEY TO THE CITY” FROM NASHVILLE MAYOR KARL DEAN ON BEHALF OF THE WILD WEST COMEDY FESTIVAL

Vince VaughnMayor Karl Dean, along with the Nashville Convention & Visitors Corporation, will present Vince Vaughn, president of Wild West Productions, with an official “Key to the City” in honor of his efforts to highlight Music City as a comedy destination via the highly successful Wild West Comedy Festival. The “Key” presented by the Mayor will be a framed piano key from Nashville artist Ben Folds’ piano that was damaged in the 2010 flood. The event will precede comedian Frank Caliendo’s festival debut.

BUD LIGHT AND NETFLIX RETURN TO WILD WEST COMEDY FESTIVAL AS OFFICIAL SPONSORS

The T.J. Martell Foundation for Leukemia, Cancer and AIDS Research honored Steve and Judy Turner with The Spirit of Nashville Award; Dr. Jeffrey Balser, Medical Research Advancement Award; Bill and Billy Ray Hearn, Frances Preston Lifetime Music Industry Achievement Award; Ken Levitan, Tony Martell Outstanding Entertainment Achievement Award and Becca Stevens, Lifetime Humanitarian Award last night at the 7th Annual Nashville Honors Gala, held at the Omni Hotel downtown. The gala raised nearly $500,000 and has raised close to 3 million dollars since its inception in 2009. Governor Bill Haslam and First Lady Crissy Haslam and Nashville Mayor Karl Dean joined the sold-out event to honor these individuals whom have made indelible marks on the community.
