RCA Nashville Old Dominion’s, the group that Billboard says is “helping to usher in a new wave of country,” new single “Snapback” hit the country radio airwaves yesterday with a thunderous pop. 126 first week chart reporting Country radio stations across the country are now spinning the new single that is the follow-up to the band’s debut, GOLD-certified, two week No. 1 hit song, “Break Up With Him,” the first single off the band’s debut album Meat and Candy an album that NPR Fresh Air describes as “an enjoyable and a calculated album, very clever and very self-conscious.”

To put that in perspective “Break Up With Him” had 76 chart reporting Country radio stations spinning it the first week versus today’s “Snapback” count sitting at 126.

“Picking a second single was kind of nerve-wracking,” says Matthew Ramsey of Old Dominion. “We felt like ‘Snapback’ was the right choice, but it’s really just a guess. You never know what’s going to connect. The overwhelming support radio and the fans have shown for ‘Snapback’ right out of the gate is something we never saw coming. Now it really feels like we made the right choice!”

Along with the massive support Old Dominion has received from country radio, the band that Billboard states is “helping to usher in a new wave of country” continues to crisscross the continent bringing their exciting live show to their fans selling out 15 shows including dates in Chicago (Joe’s Bar), New York City (Joe’s Pub), Boston (Royale), Nashville (Marathon Music Works), Los Angeles (The Roxy), Denver (Grizzly Rose), Milwaukee (The Rave) and Minneapolis (Varsity Theater) to name a few. At the turn of the year, Old Dominion performed almost 200 shows including an 18 city stadium tour with Kenny Chesney on the Big Revival Tour. The group of hit songwriters will join Chesney again this summer on tour along with Miranda Lambert and Sam Hunt.

Doing what Old Dominion has done in the past 12 months is nothing short of impressive. In February of 2015 the band signed to RCA Records Nashville, released their first single (“Break Up With Him”) to country radio in May, hit the road with Kenny Chesney the same month in addition to selling out their own headlining shows, released their debut album Meat and Candy in November as well as having their aforementioned debut GOLD-certified single hit No. 1 on the Country Airplay charts and holding for the top position for TWO weeks, making their National television debut in December on NBC’s Today Show to now releasing their second single “Snapback” with a massive response from radio.

“What I’ve learned in working in this business is that great things happen to great artists,” says Randy Goodman (Chairman & CEO, Sony Music Nashville). “If the artist is great at what they do, they rise, and rise fast. This has been evident with what is happening with this band. You take great songwriting, an energetic and captivating live show and combine it with five unique individuals who have a grasp of who they are and where they want to go, and you get Old Dominion. I am so excited to see what happens in the next 12 months, not to mention the many months after that.”

About Old Dominion
RCA Nashville recording act Old Dominion has been writing songs and honing its live show in Music City for 10 years. While many of the group’s songs have been recorded by top artists including Kenny Chesney, Keith Urban, Luke Bryan, The Band Perry, Chris Young and more, the group is currently focused on performing its own brand of country stripped down and raw but muscular enough to fit in on today’s country radio. Their recent debut single “Break Up With Him” spent two weeks at No.1 on the Country charts and was certified GOLD by the RIAA. The band released its debut full-length album Meat and Candy on Nov. 6, produced by GRAMMY Award winning songwriter/producer Shane McAnally. They will join Kenny Chesney’s Spread The Love Tour. Their new single “Snapback” is at Country Radio now.
