Dot Records recording artists Maddie & Tae brought the house down at their album release event on Tuesday night in Nashville. The dynamic duo performed songs from their self-written debut album START HERE, which is available everywhere on August 28.

The party took place at the Cordelle home near downtown Nashville. Guests were greeted at the door by the infamous male lead character from Maddie & Tae’s “Girl In A Country Song” music video which has amassed over 28 million views to date and earned multiple award nominations from the ACM’s, CMA and CMT. A variety of Maddie & Tae’s favorite Southern foods were served and guests were gifted digital copies of START HERE upon exit.

“We are so excited!” exclaimed Tae about START HERE. “We have been writing this album since we were fifteen years old so you will hear our stories and about our lives from the past five years.”

Added Maddie, “We purposefully made a record that covered so many topics and sounded different so we didn’t pigeonholed ourselves.”

With label executives, friends, family and industry elite watching on, the girls sang their hits including current single “Fly” and the chart-topper “Girl in a Country Song” which is now officially RIAA certified-PLATINUM. Big Machine Label Group President and CEO Scott Borchetta along with Dot Records General Manager Chris Stacey surprised Maddie & Tae at the end of their set with their PLATINUM-certified plaques while the crowd cheered on.

A highlight of the event came during the middle of the evening when they introduced a surprise guest, and their idol, Lee Ann Womack. The Country icon came out and sang her 1998 hit “A Little Past Little Rock” with the girls who have looked up to her as an artist since they were kids.

Superstar Dierks Bentley also sent the girls a note via video in which he raved, “Maddie & Tae, as performers, they are great and they are light years ahead of where I was at that age…they are gamers. You know they will be around for a long time.”

The ACM Vocal Duo of the Year nominees will be making many high-profile press appearances over the next few weeks including a TODAY performance on the famed Rockefeller Plaza on September 1. They are also continuing their stint on Dierks Bentley’s SOUNDS OF SUMMER TOUR before embarking on their headlining START HERE TOUR kicking off October 7 at the Highline Ballroom in New York City.
