Cingle Records debuted in Nashville earlier this year, and the label this week released its first music to the consumer with singer/songwriter Rainey Qualley’s Turn Down The Lights EP. The Asheville, NC native co-wrote all seven songs on the collection, which was produced by Russ Zavitson and John Ramey. Her debut single, “Me And Johnny Cash,” was just shipped to country radio.

“I’ve been dreaming about recording a CD for years,” said Rainey during a break in interviews about the release today. “This has been an incredible team effort. I’m really proud of this music, and I hope people enjoy it as much as we enjoyed writing and recording it.”

Next week’s CMA Music Fest will be another first for Rainey, as she makes a host of appearances and autograph signings. Official performances will include the Belk Park Stage at 2:05pm on Thursday, June 11, which is free and open to the public. She will perform on the AT&T U-verse Showcase Stage in The Fan Fair X Exhibit Hall in the Music City Center the following day at 2:15pm. A ticket is required for admittance into the Fan Fair X Exhibit Hall.

Rainey began making trips to Nashville to pursue songwriting but quickly embraced her desire to entertain. Booking powerhouse CAA signed Rainey earlier this year, and her first dates were opening for her hero Willie Nelson’s two sold-out shows at the famed Ryman Auditorium. SirusXM’s The Highway added her song, “Turn Me On Like The Radio,” as a “Highway Find,” and it rose to #17 on their countdown.

Born in New York, NY, Rainey’s family moved to Missoula, Montana when she was two and then to Asheville, North Carolina seven years later. Rainey always loved the performing arts and was a passionate participant in school plays, dance competitions, and choirs throughout her childhood. She credits dance for giving her an appreciation for a wide variety of music genres and styles. Between dance, the music her father listened to at home and in his own bands and her own eclectic tastes, she lists Johnny Cash, Dolly Parton, Sam Hunt, Hozier, Otis Redding, Etta James, The Temptations and others among her diverse music taste.
