Memphis-born Lucy Hale might be better known for her acting as one of the stars of ABC Family’s hit series “Pretty Little Liars”, but the multi-talented actress is also managing to balance a music career as she just released her debut cd ‘Road Between’.

The very sweet & talented Lucy Hale graciously took a few minutes away from her busy schedule to talk with us about her new album, how she felt about debuting on the Grand Ole Opry (since this was just days before her Opry debut performance), and let us get to know her a little better.  Please read on to find out more about Lucy!

1) What made you decide to pursue music?

“Singing for as long as can remember and always gravitated towards anything musical.  Moved out to L.A. shortly after winning FOX’s “American Juniors” (at the age of 13).   Fell in love with both (music & acting).  Acting took off way quicker and timing just didn’t feel right younger.  Then, she was signed to a record deal, and had always wanted to create a country album.   Forget how much you love doing something until got back into it again.  Took 2 years to make the album.  Lots of people believed in her.  Felt right and glad did it.”

2) What song resonates most with you on your debut album ‘Road Between’?

“Two songs.  The title track “Road Between” is a really great representation of who I am, and where I am in life right now.  “Nervous Girl” has a powerful message.  Knows her audience, and a message that feels that young women need to hear.”

3) How does it feel to be making your debut performance on the Opry? Note: This question was asked just days prior to her debut Opry appearance.

“Growing up in Tennessee and having a love of country music, she was always aware of the significance of the Opry.  Found out performing on Opry online by seeing on Twitter that the Opry sent out.  Something that’s on her bucket list.  Nervous and excited.”

4) What about touring to support your new album?

“A bunch of shows scheduled for this summer.   Films 8 1/2 months out of the year and makes a little tricky, but totally worth it and wouldn’t do it (music) if didn’t love it.”

5) New single? What’s it about?

“Lie A Little Better”.   Went with this as the follow-up single, because of the “positive feedback from fans” kept hearing.  Although she didn’t write it, she relates to it because of a past relationship where she was “completely falling for a person and acting like an “idiot” in front of him.”

6) What’s a typical day in your life like? What was she doing the day of this interview?

“Table read, fitting, phoners (interview of the phone like with me), and filming.  Attending a show later with some friends to see Ed Sheeran.  On the weekends, heading out to perform shows around the country.”

7) What do you like to do in your free time?

“Music, catching up with friends and family, and catch up on sleep.  Even going to the grocery store, because it’s a bit of normalcy in her life.”

8) What would people be surprised to learn about her?

“People are surprised to find out that she can be a little shy right off the bat.  She was always really shy about releasing her album, and was really mum about it for a long time.”

9) Would you ever want to move to Nashville?

“Would move to Nashville today if she could.  Plan has always been to move back to Tennessee in a few years.”

10) Three words to describe herself?

“Loyal, stubborn, and charismatic.”

Bonus question: Lucy was just selected as one of CMT’s Next Women Of Country.  If she could do a “CMT Crossroads” with anyone, who would it be?

“Kelly Clarkson.  Loved watching her on ‘American Idol’.  But, if could perform with any country artist, she “would love to perform with Dolly Parton”.
