Little Big Town Scores Second Consecutive Number-One Single This Week

Little Big Town scored their second consecutive number-one single with “Tornado,” which tops this Mediabase country chart this week. This number-one follows up their first chart-topper, “Pontoon,” which scored a two-week number-one last fall.

The video, which stars actor Jonathan Schaech (That Thing You Do), is a favorite of the fans, but not necessarily the fam. “It’s scary, and I will have to say compared to ‘Pontoon’ – our children loved watching the ‘Pontoon’ video,” says LBT’s Karen Fairchild. “This one, the fans seem to love, but our kiddies don’t like to watch this one that much.” The “Tornado” clip is nominated for the ACM Video of the Year, and the band scored three other nominations including Vocal Group of the Year, Album of the Year and Single of the Year for “Pontoon.”

Little Big Town are headed to London to perform at the O2 Arena in London this week, but they’re set to continue their Tornado Tour when they return.

Little Big Town Wraps Up 2012 With Performance On The Season Finale Of The X Factor

Little Big TownCountry foursome Little Big Town will wrap up 2012 with a performance of their #1 hit single “Pontoon” on the live part 1 season finale of The X Factor tomorrow at 8/7 C on FOX.

They will be performing with finalist Tate Stevens.

The band has had a banner year with the release of their critically-acclaimed fifth studio album Tornado, which was recently certified gold by the RIAA, and features the CMA “Single of the Year – Pontoon” as well as current single “Tornado.” Little Big Town also walked away with the CMA “Vocal Group of the Year” trophy and most recently the ACA for “Music Video of the Year: Group or Collaboration-Pontoon.” The group will vie for “Best Country Duo/Group Performance-Pontoon” at the 55th Annual GRAMMY Awards this February.

Little Big Town will launch The Tornado Tour January 31, 2012 in Murray, KY and will hit over 25 cities nationwide with special guests Kacey Musgraves and David Nail.

Album Review: Tornado By Little Big Town

Little Big Town, the country group comprised of Phillip Sweet, Karen Fairchild, Kimberly Schlapman, and Jimi Westbrook,  just released their newest album this past week entitled Tornado.  The fun lead off single “Pontoon” has been a huge summer hit and marks the group’s first number one single.  Surprising that this is the first number one hit for this very talented group that has been established for a few years.  According to a recent article in Billboard, Little Big Town “have endured quite a roller-coaster ride since joining forces more than a decade ago.  Says Schlapman: ‘We certainly had our frustrating moments. For whatever reason, some things worked out and some things did not, but they surely formed who we are today and got us to this point, so we have to be grateful.’” Continue Reading →
