Music, Art & Fashion Collide at RAW Marvel Friday, April 26
Global arts organization RAW: natural born artists is back at it again with 30 new artists. This month’s show is packed with a diverse selection of artists. Everything from indie funk/rock to contemporary visual art, RAW offers artists the opportunity to share what they love with the Nashville community.
WHAT/WHO: Marvel will feature over 30 independent fashion designers; live indie rock bands; visual, performing, and makeup artists; and hair stylists. The collaborative fashion show, live musical performance and pop up art gallery will be hosted by Erin Como, Fox 17 News Nashville Anchor and DJ Wilsdorf. RAW: Nashville Shakes Cannery Ballroom With An Eclectic Collaboration Of Fashion, Art And Music
RAW: Nashville of RAW: natural born artists will gather 37 artists for a night of fashion, art and music on Friday, April 26 from 8 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. at Cannery Ballroom.
Following the launch of the new bimonthly format, Marvel is the second showcase of the year. It will feature musical performances by rock bands Red Wine Hangover, Dirty Silver, The Resolute and funk/rock band Jones World. The collaborative music and runway show will feature clothing by TaraMarie, Harpediem and Mika Roche Collection. Accessories will include designs from Raw Jewelry, Pursuing, MynisaUnique, New York to Nashville and Ashjewels. While, Rachel Cothron, Amber Cannon, Ashley and Claire and Harlow Salon will do hair and makeup. Local visual artists will include Tonya Nikole, Mocking Girl Designs, Allison Johnson, TB8S, Helen Johana, Melissa Christine, Tony Hayes, Bret Pemelton, Sam Braden IV, Teresa Baker, Chasen Igleheart, Tiffany Howell, Jonathan Hargrove, India Stone, Charleen Pardue, Brayden Harp, Jenna Winstead, Steve Rollins and Deer Abigail. NASHVILLE — RAW: Nashville of the international arts organization RAW: natural born artists will launch its new showcase format Thursday, Feb. 28 at its art-infused showcase, Discovery.
Discovery, the first showcase of 2013, marks the beginning of a new journey for RAW: Nashville and its artists. By moving from Mercy Lounge to Cannery Ballroom, increasing the number of artists in each showcase and switching from a monthly to bimonthly showcase, RAW: Nashville expects to increase attendance to about 800 to 1000 attendees.
