A sold-out crowd of concert-goers went wild Wednesday night at the 40th Anniversary celebration of the legendary Charlie Daniels Volunteer Jam, presented by Copperweld, at Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena as seven-time GRAMMY-nominee country star Eric Church, iconic Southern rock group Lynyrd Skynyrd, and Blackberry Smoke made bombshell, unannounced appearances to honor U.S. military members and veterans.
You’ve heard of poker runs for charities or as a general community event where participants run, cycle, or canoe their way along a certain route to complete their hand, and now powerboats are the newest craze for these fun community-driven runs. Powerboat clubs all over the country have been putting together these events to introduce fellow boat owners to each other, with poker runs frequently occurring in places such as Miami, Lake Lanier near Atlanta and Lake of the Ozarks in Missouri, and Nashville has recently been touted as a hotbed for powerboat gatherings.
Musicians Corner, Nashville’s destination for free music events, will continue its record-breaking Fifth Anniversary Season on Saturday, September 5, as it moves into its permanent home in Centennial Park.
Bluewater Music is pleased to welcome Allen Stone and The Weeks to SoundHarvest Music Festival, a music and arts event to take place on the Parthenon Lawn at Centennial Park on Saturday, October 17. Doors for this all-ages event will open at 11 a.m., with nonstop music on two stages until 11 p.m..
Nashville’s new outdoor live concert venue, Ascend Amphitheater, officially opened its doors to the public this past weekend, kicking off opening season with four sold-out shows and a free open house for the community. With an official ribbon cutting that morning with Nashville’s Mayor Karl Dean in attendance, Eric Church kicked things off on Thursday night to a capacity house in the “sterling new facility overlooking the Cumberland River and the downtown skyline” (Rolling Stone) and continued the festivities on Friday night as he played to a second sold-out crowd.
The City Winery Nashville Tasting Bar makes its debut with exclusive Nashville-inspired wines that have been blended, cellared, and bottled right here in SoBro. The City Winery winemakers have been diligently working for nearly a year to bring the winery to life and offer guests locally-crafted wines, the first of many being the “Roundabout Red” and “Two Rivers Chardonnay.”
