MAREN MORRIS SIGNS WITH SONY MUSIC NASHVILLE

Sony Music Nashville has signed singer/songwriter Maren Morris, who joins the label group’s Columbia Nashville imprint. The Texas-native has quickly established herself in Nashville’s music community with songwriting and vocal stylings that reflect her country, folk and pop influences, with Rolling Stone Country touting her “a stellar solo artist in her own right.” Currently on Spotify, songs from her self-titled EP have garnered from than 2.5 million streams in little over a month, with 3 songs hitting Spotify’s US and Global “Viral 50” chart.

See Sheryl Crow Perform at Rolling Stone Country Party Presented by Patrón

“A change would do you good,” Sheryl Crow sang at the start of a huge event in Nashville Monday night celebrating Rolling Stone Films and Rolling Stone Country, and presented by Patrón. Her 1997 hit was a fitting choice to kick off the party in the town she has called home for a decade now, making the huge change from busy Los Angeles to a quiet Nashville ranch and also making the gutsy (and widely praised) leap from rock to country with 2013’s Feels Like Home album. Nashville has also become a second home to Rolling Stone, with last summer’s launch of our country vertical, and the city serves as the backdrop for the sixth installment of Rolling Stone Films’ “Mastering the Craft” series presented by Patrón, with the latest mini-documentary looking back on Crow’s extraordinary rise from shy Missouri music student to Michael Jackson’s backup singer to a rock & roll icon.

Make-A-Wish Foundation’s Wine & Wishes

Middle Tennessee’s Make-A-Wish® Foundation held its annual Wine and Wishes fundraising soirée inside Nashville’s aVenue.  The dinner included a table of golden tinsel covered wine bottles which were all sold for $20 and were valued between $20-$200. The night featured an assortment of food, a live DJ, and an artist painting through out the night.
