Music Row friends and family packed The Basement East to celebrate the team behind the ACM Awards Song of the Year nominated Keith Urban hit single, “Blue Ain’t Your Color.” The tune marked eighteenth chart-topper for songwriter Hillary Lindsey and the second for co-writer Clint Lagerberg, while songwriter-artist Steven Lee Olsen celebrated his very first #1 song. Lindsey is also nominated for the ACM’s Songwriter of the Year award, while Urban is up for ACM awards in four additional categories: Entertainer, Male Vocalist, Album and Single of the Year.

The celebration kicked off with a live performance of “Blue Ain’t Your Color” by Urban, the songwriters and producer/guitarist Dann Huff, followed by a long line of music industry well-wishers who took to the mic to offer their congratulations, including publishers BMG’s Daniel Lee, Cornman Music’s Nate Lowery, Sea Gayle Music’s Marc Driskill, Spirit Music’s Daniel Hill and Warner/Chappell’s Ben Vaughn; and Urban’s label home Capitol/UMG Nashville’s Mike Dungan. Hosted by ASCAP’s Mike Sistad and Beth Brinker, the party was sponsored in part by First Tennessee Bank.

THE GEORGIA MUSIC FOUNDATION AND JAMESON IRISH WHISKEY ANNOUNCE THE “JAMESON PEACH JAM”: A CELEBRATION OF GEORGIA’S HITMAKERS AT THE GEORGE JONES ROOFTOP BAR IN NASHVILLE ON MARCH 21

The Georgia Music Foundation and Jameson® Irish Whiskey have announced the “Jameson Peach Jam,” a celebration of Georgia’s hitmakers at The George Jones Rooftop Bar in Nashville on Tuesday, March 21 (7:30 PM/CT).

The “Jameson Peach Jam” is the official kick-off for the “Fourth Annual Jameson Irish Whiskey Presents Georgia On My Mind” benefit concert hosted by the Peach Pickers and featuring special guests on Tuesday, May 16 at the historic Ryman Auditorium in Nashville.

“Adding a second night of Georgia-bred music in Nashville was a direct result of the popularity and success of ‘Georgia On My Mind,'” said Dallas Davidson, a member of the Peach Pickers and chair of the Georgia Music Foundation. “There’s so much homegrown talent in Georgia that our Ryman show could go all night, but instead we are partnering with our friends at Jameson to create a second event spotlighting Peach State songwriters and one of Jameson’s emerging artists.”

Songwriters participating in the “Jameson Peach Jam” include Pat Alger, Tony Arata, Trea Landon, Jon Langston, Cole Taylor, and special guests.

It’s fitting to host Georgians at The George Jones! The venue celebrates the legacy of its namesake through live music every day, great food, and a rooftop bar with one of the best views of Nashville. The state-of-the-art museum gives visitors a rare glimpse into the personal and professional life of country music icon, George Jones.

Tickets for the “Jameson Peach Jam” cost $10 and proceeds benefit the Georgia Music Foundation. Tickets are available now via https://www.xorbia.com/events/georgiamusicfoundation/jameson-peach-jam.

They’re joined by Georgia natives Cole Taylor, who had two No. 1 hits last year with Luke Bryan’s “Home Alone Tonight” and Florida Georgia Line’s “Sippin’ on Fire”; Jon Langston, whose songwriting and live show have “sparked a wildfire fan base across the country”; and Trea Landon, who was one of the first artists signed to Dallas Davidson’s Play It Again Publishing.

About the Georgia Music Foundation:

Proceeds from the “Jameson Peach Jam” and “Georgia On My Mind” benefit the Georgia Music Foundation, which supports programs of music preservation, education, and outreach. With proceeds from the first three years of “Georgia On My Mind,” the Foundation has awarded grants totaling more than $150,000 to music programs at Georgia schools and non-profits.

BMI’s “Young Guns” Monthly Showcase

On the last Wednesday of every month, music fans can enjoy listening to young, up and coming songwriters at the Sulter presented by BMI called “Young Guns”.

The series, created by BMI’s own David Preston 9 months ago, is meant to shine a spotlight on new songwriters mostly in the country genre. It’s a mix of both full band and acoustic performances depending on the artist’s preference.

I had the opportunity to attend the January showcase and throughly enjoyed the show featuring Olivia Bey, Sela Bruce, Charlie’s River, and Paulina Jayne.

As an added plus, love the venue of the newly-reopened and historic the Sutler, which offers great sound in a very cool setting since 1977 when original owner Johnny Potts first opened its doors.

Be sure to check out this fun series featuring BMI’s newest songwriters who I am sure you’ll be hearing about in the years to come every last Wednesday at 8pm at the Sutler in Nashville. Sponsored by Pickers Vodka.
