Lambert, who owns 8 rescue dogs, says, “I always try to combine my two passions which are music & mutts. I’ve gotten to meet some amazing people that run shelters in the communities where we perform, and I always love connecting with other dog-loving fans.”

Supporters can drop off their donations and sign up for a chance to win a meet and greet with the mutt-loving and celebrated superstar, presented by Live Nation & MuttNation. Check venue sites online for Little Red Wagon collection times.

Ashley Monroe joined by Miranda Lambert on stage.

On Wednesday, July 22nd, I had the pleasure of attending Ashley Monroe’s album preview show at The Basement East, an intimate venue in East Nashville.

As soon as I stepped into the room, I noticed it was filled with a who’s who of the music industry, everyone from booking agents, publishers, media to many artists out to hear Ashley Monroe perform her new material.  Everyone anxiously awaited Monroe to take the stage.

MIRANDA LAMBERT’S PLATINUM DEBUTS AT #1 ON THE BILLBOARD 200

When Miranda Lambert went into the studio to record her new album,Platinum, she says she “went in without a plan, in order to keep the creative process fresh.” That fresh creative process pays off asPlatinum finds Miranda atop the all-genre Billboard 200 with the #1 album in the nation. In addition, she becomes the only country artist in the 50-year history of Billboard’s Top Country Albums chart to have each of her first five albums debut at #1. With 180,000 albums sold, according to Nielsen SoundScan,Platinum marks a 35% increase in sales over her previous album release. All four of her prior albums have been certified platinum.

In response to the news, Miranda said, “THANK YOU to the music lovers who believe in albums and spent your hard-earned money on 16 songs! 16 songs that all say something important to me. I hope that they also speak to you, and I hope you enjoy listening to Platinum. Thank you to the incredible musicians, songwriters, producers and artists that put this record together. I’m the luckiest girl in the world, blessed with the best fans!”

Fans aren’t the only ones celebrating Miranda’s new album.  Among Platinum’sshining reviews:

“With these songs, Lambert reinforces the principles underlying both Platinum and the rest of her career: feminine strength, force of personality, and command of the situation. Further commercial dominance is sure to follow.”
– Time Magazine

Lambert “earned her throne” by “singing top-shelf songs in the voice of a woman getting real. Listening to her records is like eavesdropping in a hair salon.”
– Rolling Stone (4-star review)

Platinum is “an old-school country wisecracker that’s one of her all-time best.”
– Entertainment Weekly (grade of “A”)

“Her characters in these songs — which feature some of the most incisive songwriting in any genre — are complex, self-confident and self-lacerating all at once, and most crucially, completely knowing and in on the joke.”
– The New York Times

“Yes, Lambert continues to grow. But at her core, she continues to celebrate the colorful drama of working-class lives…. The way she reflects modern women, complete with risqué word play and edgy humor, is what makes Lambert a fully three-dimensional country star.
– AP

Platinum’s debut single, “Automatic,” written by Miranda with Nicolle Galyon and Natalie Hemby, hit # 1 this week and has been certified gold. The song marks Miranda’s 7th#1 single. “Thanks to Country Radio for being so good to me over the years and helping me get to #1 this past week with ‘Automatic,’” said Miranda. “This song is dear to my heart as it reminds me who I am and where I come from. It was written with two amazingly talented girlfriends who deserve all the great things that come their way,” she continued.

MIRANDA LAMBERT LAUNCHES PLATINUM WITH WEEK OF TV APPEARANCES

Miranda Lambert will unveil her long anticipated new RCA Records Nashville album, Platinum, next week with a wave of television appearances. On Sunday, June 1, CBS’ Sunday Morning will air a comprehensive profile on Miranda from her hometown of Tishomingo, OK. Monday, June 2, she will perform her top 5 single “Automatic” on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, and she will rise early on Tuesday, June 3, for an appearance on Good Morning America.

“I’m so excited to finally be releasingPlatinum, and I can’t wait for everyone to have the opportunity to hear it,” said Miranda of theJune 3 album which contains 16 tracks. “I feel I have a responsibility as a female artist, songwriter and musician to keep reinventing myself and stay fresh. I didn’t know exactly what that was going to be but I didn’t want a concrete plan that we were locked into. So I actually felt pretty vulnerable writing this album and picking songs, and I think you can hear that on the record.”

Platinum will be available June 3 or preorder now at http://smarturl.it/mlplatinum and receive “Somethin’ Bad” and Miranda’s hit single, “Automatic,” now.

Album Review: Miranda Lambert | ‘Platinum’

Miranda Lambert
With this brand new 16-track album entitled ‘Platinum’, Miranda Lambert’s 5th album seems both contemplative and playful rather than singing the revenge anthems like “Crazy Ex-Girlfriend” and “Kerosene” that she’s been known for.  This is a Miranda who is having fun with a little self-effacing humor about aging (“Gravity’s a Bitch”), talks about life from the female perspective (“Girls”), the demands of beauty (“Bathroom Sink”), some really traditional and throwback country that I could imagine being played in the honky tonks on Broadway in the 60s (“All That’s Left” featuring the Time Jumpers), rip-roaring, rocking songs (“Somethin’ Bad” with Carrie Underwood), and tender ballads (“Holding On To You”). Overall, Miranda seems to be in a very contemplative place in her life for this album and wanting to share a less serious side of herself taking chances throughout the entire album. 40th Opry House Anniversary All Cast Hollo 2164 3-15-14The Grand Ole Opry celebrated 40 years of country music at the Grand Ole Opry House this evening as the newest members of the Opry, Old Crow Medicine Show, led the cast in a show-opening performance of Opry patriarch Roy Acuff’s “Wabash Cannonball.” The 40th Opry House Anniversary Show began as the very first Opry performance at the Opry House did, with video footage of Acuff and his Smoky Mountain Boys from 1940 performing the band’s signature song. That performance transitioned to footage of Acuff and the Opry cast singing the song on March 16, 1974 before finally seamlessly transitioning to the curtain going up on Old Crow and a stage full of tonight’s other performers finishing the number for the live audience.
