K-LOVE Fan Awards To Air On Television For First Time With TBN Tonight

Multi-platinum selling band MercyMe took top honors at the 2018 K-LOVE Fan Awards, garnering a win in all nominated categories – Film Impact (for the box office smash I Can Only Imagine), Group or Duo of the Year, Song of the Year for “Even If” and Artist of the Year. Cory Asbury‘s captivating hit “Reckless Love”also won big, honored for both Worship Song of the Year and Breakout Single. A full recap of Sunday night’s winners is listed below.

GRAMMY® acclaimed artists Matthew West and Mandisa teamed up to host the sixth annual K-LOVE Fan Awards at Nashville’s iconic Grand Ole Opry. The evening included performances from some of the biggest names in Christian music including Casting Crowns, Chris Tomlin, Cory Asbury featuring Francesca Battestelli, for KING & COUNTRY, Hillsong Worship, Jordan Feliz, Mandisa, Matt Maher, MercyMe featuring Trace Adkins, Newsboys United, Tauren Wells featuring Natalie Grant, TobyMac, We are Messengers featuring Social Club Misfits, Zach Williams and Matthew West, whose performance was a moving tribute to the late Rev. Billy Graham.

Dennis Quaid, a lead actor in the winning film I Can Only Imagine, surprised fans with a moving performance. Other notables included John Crist, Jasmine Murray, Micah Tyler and Riley Clemmons who were among the additions to the fan-fueled awards show. Danny Gokey, Elisabeth Hasselbeck, Mike Donehey of Tenth Avenue North, Mike Weaver, Natalie Grant, Plumb and Sadie Robertson were among those presenting the honors for the night.

Marking a touching point in the evening, Mandisa & West surprised a teen who had just undergone a heart transplant after a 15 year journey of facing heart complications with a special K-LOVE Fan Award. John Corbell and his family would listen to K-LOVE during his time at Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt. His family was among the special guests of the night from Ryan Seacrest Foundation’s Seacrest Studios at Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt.

MercyMe And TobyMac Top 2018 K-LOVE Fan Awards’ Nominations With Four Nods Each

Multi-platinum selling artists MercyMe and TobyMac have garnered the most nominations for this year’s K-LOVE Fan Awards including four nods total in the major categories of Artist of the Year, Male Artist of the Year, Group or Duo of the Year, Song of the Year and Film Impact. Casting Crowns, Cory Asbury and Zach Williams each received three nominations spanning categories such as Group or Duo of the Year, Breakout Single of the Year, Worship Song of the Year and more. Among the eight categories is the Film Impact award which included nominees All Saints, I Can Only Imagine, Paul, Apostle of Christ, Same Kind of Different and Samson. Announced initially to fans this evening by co-hosts Mandisa and Matthew West via Facebook, listeners hold the power to vote for the winners in each category by visiting www.klovefanawards.com. 2017 K-LOVE Fan Awards Voting Now Open, Uniting Fans To Support Military Heroes In A Big Way

Voting is now underway for the 2017 K-LOVE Fan Awards, empowering fans to not only select winners in each category, but additionally play a part in awarding a newly renovated, mortgage-free home for a combat wounded hero or Gold Star spouse through the Military Warriors Support Foundation (MWSF). Each category’s honorees were chosen by fans with for KING & COUNTRY, Lauren Daigle and TobyMac topping the nominations for this year’s fan-voted K-LOVE Fan Awards, honored in three categories each.

Unique to this year’s voting, the K-LOVE Fan Awards have enlisted the help of fans to partner with the K-LOVE Radio Network and MWSF in an effort to give back to some of our nation’s combat wounded heroes and Gold Star families. K-LOVE will assist MWSF in placing a combat wounded hero or Gold Star spouse into a newly renovated, mortgage-free home.

A Very Special Christmas Series Celebrates 25TH Anniversary With The Release Of Two Albums Benefiting Special Olympics

Nashville, TN  (6 August 2012) – The ‘A Very Special Christmas’ holiday music series, benefiting Special Olympics, will celebrate its 25th anniversary this holiday season with the first ever release of two new albums on October 16, each on a different label. Titles of the albums, as unveiled today, are: A VERY SPECIAL CHRISTMAS 25TH ANNIVERSARY on Big Machine Records and A VERY SPECIAL CHRISTMAS: BRINGING PEACE ON EARTH on Word Records.

“This album series has been a remarkable gift to our Special Olympics athletes,” said Shriver. “Thanks to the generosity of countless incredible people across the music industry, the legacy from the ‘A Very Special Christmas’ album series continues to support and sustain our work to bring the joy of sport to people with intellectual disabilities which in turn fosters a global community of acceptance and inclusion.”

Special Olympics changes lives through the power of sport, as the world’s largest organization dedicated to year-round sports training and athletic competition in a variety of Olympic-type sports for people with intellectual disabilities.

Since 1987, the biggest and brightest voices in the recording industry have generously lent their time and talents to Special Olympics to create the holiday album series ‘A Very Special Christmas,’the single most successful benefit recording series in musical historygenerating more than $100 million in royalties to benefit Special Olympics. The talent was so abundant this year, it called for the release of two full albums, the first time in the history of the series that two albums will be released simultaneously:

Najila Agha is a Special Olympics athlete from Afghanistan – a local Special Olympics program started through funds raised from ‘A Very Special Christmas’ albums went from living in an orphanage in Kabul to competing in Special Olympics World Games.
