On May 7th, the first annual TJ Martell Derby Bed Race took place in downtown Nashville on a perfect spring day between the Bridgestone Plaza and the Omni Nashville Hotel on 5th Avenue.

During the Tin Pan South songwriters festival earlier this month, I had the wonderful opportunity to see in an intimate writers round at The Country in Nashville, one of the best acoustic rounds I have had the pleasure to experience. In this round were classic rock legend & The Doobie Brothers’ co-founder, Tom Johnston, his equally talented daughter, Lara Johnston, hit songwriter, Paul Overstreet, and The Doobie Brothers bassist and equally talented, John Cowen.

Nashville: A New Destination For Powerboat Runs
You’ve heard of poker runs for charities or as a general community event where participants run, cycle, or canoe their way along a certain route to complete their hand, and now powerboats are the newest craze for these fun community-driven runs. Powerboat clubs all over the country have been putting together these events to introduce fellow boat owners to each other, with poker runs frequently occurring in places such as Miami, Lake Lanier near Atlanta and Lake of the Ozarks in Missouri, and Nashville has recently been touted as a hotbed for powerboat gatherings.
Soul Of Nashville | Ryman Auditorium
Imagine having the opportunity to sit on the historic stage of the Ryman Auditorium at a press conference of the official unveiling of the $14 million expansion and introduction to the daytime tour attraction entitled “Soul of Nashville” within the new 100 seat theater created specifically for it? To be honest, I got goosebumps just sitting there taking it all in as I looked out at empty seats in the auditorium wondering what it must be like for any artist performing there and in awe of who has stood upon that stage over the last 125 years of its existence.
