The inaugural BMI Maui Songwriters Festival came to a close December 13. Hosted by Storme Warren, shows filled choice island venues including Charley’s Saloon, the Maui Arts and Cultural Center and the Grand Wailea, a Waldorf Astoria Resort. From Nashville’s signature in-the-round acoustic song-swaps that take listeners deep into the stories behind beloved hits, to rowdy full-band sets, the festival revolved around unforgettable live music experiences. The festival, held December 8 to 13, was attended by top country writers, BMI Songwriters of the Year and the up-and-coming next wave of country stars.
