NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Critically acclaimed veteran British actor David Payne brings his one-man show, Churchill, to Tennessee Performing Arts Center’s Johnson Theater for three performances Oct. 6-7.

Tickets for Churchill go on sale on Friday, July 7, at 10 a.m. at TPAC.org, by phone at 615-782-4040 and in person at the TPAC Box Office, 505 Deaderick St., in downtown Nashville. Patrons are encouraged to have tickets delivered to the TPAC Concierge App.

Payne’s riveting portrayal of the famed orator presents Sir Winston Churchill after he is awarded honorary US citizenship by President John F. Kennedy and is asked to speak to The American-Oxford Society to discuss what the honor means to him.

In this often funny, sometimes touching and always engaging one-man show, audiences will be in the room as Churchill shares his exploits during the Boer War, his constant battles with Britain’s fellow politicians and his special relationship with America’s presidents. Mixing elements of “The Crown” and “The Darkest Hour” and including touching details of Churchill’s wife Clementine and Queen Elizabeth II, Payne once again provides an opportunity to spend an intimate evening with one of the greatest historical figures in the world.
