Chris Janson Is Making A Difference In The World Through His Music And Giving Back

Platinum selling and chart-topping country artist Chris Janson released a very important music video for his newest single “Drunk Girl.” The positive message of the video and track has greatly impacted those who have watched, and it has inspired one high school girl to award Chris for using his celebrity for philanthropic efforts. Seventeen-year-old Jenna Laemmle presented Chris at his show in Louisville, KY, with a “Kindness Award” and induction into the hall of fame of her new, non-profit organization, “The Kindness Champions Foundation.”

“We are inducting Chris Janson into our Hall of Fame as a charter member,” Jenna said in a statement. “He was unanimously selected by our committee especially for his song “Drunk Girl” – in our opinion one of the kindest and strongest-messaged songs written in our generation. After being presented with countless other acts of his charity, time, and philanthropy, Mr. Janson was a unanimous selection.”

The objective for Jenna’s “Kindness Champions” foundation is to spotlight acts of kindness from both celebrities and ordinary people, publicizing acts of generosity and charity whereas they may go otherwise unnoticed. The foundation feels that it is important to single out and accentuate these acts of goodwill so that other may feel inspired to do the same.

Chris also spends his time championing other causes that are close to his heart. Last night, for the sixth year in a row, Chris performed at a charity event at Green’s Grocery in Leiper’s Fork, TN, for the organization “Miles 4 Miles,” a foundation started in the name of Miles Peck, a five- year-old boy born with Down syndrome.  The organization “supports local non-profits who enhance the lives of others with intellectual and developmental disabilities,” according to their website. Chris kicked off the event, and invited Miles on stage to help him perform his No. 1 Platinum-selling hit single, “Buy Me A Boat.” With Chris’ help, “Miles 4 Miles” has raised over $500,000 in the last six years.

Janson’s single, “Drunk Girl,” has exceeded 3 million views on YouTube and was named MUSICROW’s “Song of the Year.” It currently holds the No. 13 spot as it climbs up the country airplay charts. You can watch Chris and his co-writers of the song discuss the making of the music video HERE.
