MCA Nashville’s Sam Hunt is set to perform the national television debut of his Platinum-selling current Top 15 hit single, “Break Up In A Small Town,” tonight on NBC’s “The Voice.” Hunt joins Justin Bieber, Coldplay, Missy Elliott and The Weeknd for the two-hour live season finale.
Hunt recently earned his first ever GRAMMY nominations with nods in the all-genre Best New Artist category and in Best Country Album for his Gold-certified Montevallo. The boundary-breaking star also recently took home his first American Music Award scoring the New Artist of the Year title.
Hunt’s Montevallo topped the Billboard Country Albums chart in its debut week and remains the best-selling debut album for a country artist since 2011. The album has so far produced three consecutive No. 1 Platinum-selling singles with “Leave the Night On,” “House Party” and the double platinum “Take Your Time,” plus his current Platinum-selling “Break Up In A Small Town.” The album landed on multiple “Best of…” lists including the Associated Press, Billboard, Country Weekly, Los Angeles Times, NPR, Rolling Stone, SPIN Magazine, Village Voice and The Washington Post, and has spent 56 of the past 57 weeks in the Top 10 on the country album sales chart, with 45 of those weeks in the Top 5 and nine perched at No. 1.
