People Magazine calls “Dibs” on Kelsea Ballerini, highlighting her in their elite “Ones to Watch” list as “The Country Sweetheart.” The issue is on newsstands beginning 9/18. The CMA double nominee (New Artist of the Year, Female Vocalist of the Year) is the only Country music artist to make the list and joins the selected crop of 26 rising stars including actors, musicians, and influencers, like Adam DeVine, Francesca Eastwood, Tori Kelly, Daisy Ridley, the cast of “Scream Queens,” and Walk the Moon.

The Black River Entertainment recording artist celebrated West Coast style by attending People’s congratulatory soiree in West Hollywood Wednesday night (9/16) and stopped by NBC’s Access Hollywood Live earlier in the day to chat with hosts Kit Hoover and Billy Bush about her meteoric rise and how she discovered that Taylor Swift was a fan.

Touted by BILLBOARD as “Country’s Next Queen,” praised by ROLLING STONE as one of the “10 Artists You Need To Know” from all genres and selected as one of CMT’s Next Women of Country, Ballerini launched to stardom with the release of her #1, GOLD-certified debut “Love Me Like You Mean It” and current Top 30-and-climbing hit “Dibs.” Abuzz with shout-outs from superstars Taylor Swift, Carrie Underwood and Little Big Town, she is the first solo female artist in nine years to hit #1 with her debut country single and one of only 11 women to have ever hit the top of the charts with a debut. Both “Love Me Like You Mean It” and “Dibs” are featured on her debut album THE FIRST TIME (Black River Entertainment), co-produced by Forest Glen Whitehead and Jason Massey, which landed Top 5 on the Billboard Country Albums Chart. After spending the summer opening select shows for Alan Jackson, Lady Antebellum, Tim McGraw, Carrie Underwood and Keith Urban, she will join Dan + Shay’s JUST THE RIGHT KIND OF CRAZY TOUR this fall.
