On the heels of his fourth consecutive No. One, CMA New Artist of the Year nominee Thomas Rhett is giving fans more new music as he announces “Die A Happy Man” as the second single from his “sonically courageous” (SiriusXM) record TANGLED UP(The Valory Music Co.), out Sept. 25th. Infused with personal lyrics, it has already been named “one of the album’s standout tracks” with “some of his most passionate vocals to date” (Rolling Stone), and ships to country radio tomorrow.
“My wife has been on me for years to write something for her like Tim McGraw’s ‘Just to See You Smile,’” shares Thomas Rhett. “Obviously this isn’t exactly like that, but it’s my interpretation. It’s one-hundred percent autobiographical of our relationship in a three-and-a-half minute ballad. It’s probably my favorite song I’ve ever written and it will be fun to show our grandkids the video one day.”
Co-written with Sean Douglas and Joe Spargur, Thomas Rhett has partnered with People to premiere the official music video for “Die A Happy Man” here. Directed by TK McKamy, the video was shot on a Hawaiian getaway with his wife Lauren over the summer and ends a string of weekly videos leading into TANGLED UP’s release. Beginning tomorrow, fans who preorder TANGLED UP on iTunes will instantly receive “Die A Happy Man” as well as the three previously released tracks.
Next week, Thomas Rhett will host a record-breaking concert event “Tangled Up in Texas,” which will include a full set of new music and his chart-topping hits at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, TX on Sept. 23. Initially garnering attention as a gifted songwriter with credits including hits by Florida Georgia Line, Jason Aldean and Lee Brice, it is the multi-Platinum artist’s “high-energy all the way” (El Paso Times) live show that has “the audience dancing all the way up in the rafters of the stadium” (Billboard) and continues to catch the attention of critics out on the road. He is slated to headline the CMT Tour this fall, kicking off Oct. 29 in New York City. For a full list of upcoming tour dates and appearances, visit www.thomasrhett.com
