Nashville, TN – August 8, 2023 – Country superstar Thomas Rhett and his wife Lauren Akins shine on the cover of Southern Living for the September 2023 issue. The cover story can be viewed HERE and the issue will be available on newsstands on Friday, August 18th.

Thomas Rhett and Lauren posed for the issue’s photos at their family farm in Tennessee. The couple opened up to the magazine about their family’s love of football, game day traditions, and experience as a house divided with Lauren rooting for the Tennessee Volunteers and Thomas Rhett’s love of the Georgia Bulldogs.

Thomas Rhett reflected on the experience of shooting the cover, explaining, “It’s no secret that our family is pretty much obsessed with football. Lauren and I had a lot of fun chatting with a magazine that appreciates the game as much as we do.”

Lauren echoed Thomas Rhett’s sentiments, explaining, “Football was everything to my family growing up and Thomas Rhett and I have enjoyed passing our love of football down to our daughters. Southern Living celebrates family, traditions, and, of course, college football, so to be able to sit down with them was super special.”

The couple also joined Sid Evans, editor-in-chief of Southern Living, for an episode of Southern Living’s podcast, Biscuits & Jam. The episode will be available on all streaming platforms August 15th.

In addition to appearing on the cover of Southern Living, Thomas Rhett has been busy on the road for his HOME TEAM 23 tour. Dubbed the “most electric country show of the summer” (Page Six), the tour will hit a total of 40 cities in 27 states in its entirety. The hitmaker also recently announced the upcoming release of a retrospective vinyl collection, 20 NUMBER ONES, celebrating his milestone achievement of earning 20 No. Ones in a matter of just 10 years. The superstar’s critically-acclaimed sixth studio album WHERE WE STARTED is available now, with single “Half of Me,” featuring Riley Green, currently Top 5 at Country radio. Thomas Rhett has also just released his first-ever Christmas collection MERRY CHRISTMAS Y’ALL, featuring his rich vocal and sincere delivery, with a country flair on four favorite festive tracks.  Inspired by family, friends and his love of the outdoors, Thomas Rhett is also the cofounder of Dos Primos Tequila and has collaborated with Chaco on an exclusive sandal line. He recently extended his BRING THE BAR TO YOU TOUR into 2023 with dates scheduled for the top of next year in Canada. For more information, visit www.ThomasRhett.com.

About Cole Swindell

Multi-Platinum selling superstar Cole Swindell released his fifth studio album, Stereotype, to massive success. The project has already charted three back-to-back multi-week No. 1 hits: the Gold-certified “Single Saturday Night,” the Platinum-certified “Never Say Never” (with Lainey Wilson) and, most recently, the Platinum-certified, five-week chart-topper “She Had Me At Heads Carolina.” In the seven years since his debut on Warner Music Nashville, Swindell has racked up an impressive 12 No. 1 singles as an artist – 13 as a songwriter – 11 certified Platinum singles (four singles at 2x Platinum), a Platinum-certified debut album (Cole Swindell) and a Gold-certified sophomore album (You Should Be Here). The Georgia hitmaker has over 5.2 BILLION global career streams. His massive, GRAMMY-nominated hit “Break Up In The End” was named the 2019 NSAI Song of the Year. Swindell is nominated for two CMA Awards for Musical Event of the Year and Music Video of the Year for “Never Say Never” with Lainey Wilson. He officially became a headliner on his own in 2018 with his Reason To Drink Tours, and is currently out on the road with Ashley Cooke and Dylan Marlowe for his Back Down To The Bar Tour.

About Nate Smith

With a mix of gritty backwoods soul, rock ‘n’ roll swagger and velvet-thunder vocals, Nate Smith first chased his neon dreams to Nashville in his early 20s – but it didn’t stick. The disheartened Smith returned home and thought he was “100-percent done” with his artistic journey…until a crucible of change burned away the past. In 2018, Smith lost everything he owned in the devastating Camp Fire which tore through Paradise, California. Although his family was safe, he struggled to cope and turned back to music, hoping that it would help comfort himself and others. Help it did, inspiring a month-long road trip across the U.S. to Music City, writing music and playing dive bars along the way. Soon after his arrival to Nashville, Nate released his biggest song to date, “Wildfire,” and landed a publishing deal with Sony ATV. Since then, he’s released new music including “Sleeve” and “Under My Skin,” which has amassed over 70 million on-demand streams to date. The singer was named a Spotify Hot Country Artist to Watch for 2021 – an accurate prediction as he rounded out the year with a record deal with Sony Music Nashville and is now making waves with his latest release, “Whiskey On You,” which is now Gold-certified and Top 15 and climbing at country radio.

St. Jude Backstage At Westwood One’s Radio Row For The ACM Awards

St. Jude patients Londyn and Addi got an experience they won’t soon forget this weekend while in Las Vegas for the ACM Awards. Artists in town for the awards show including Florida Georgia Line, Lady Antebellum, Little Big Town, Lauren Alaina, Luke Bryan, and Reba McEntire stopped by to say hello and spend time with the St. Jude patients. Londyn taught ACM Entertainer of the year, Keith Urban and ACM Male vocalist of the year, Thomas Rhett how to play her favorite game of rock, paper, scissors. She also talked with the stars asking Jake Owen, “If you could have a superpower, what would it be?” Jake told Londyn that he’d want to make everyone feel really good and healthy all of the time. Londyn is 6 years old and fighting Neuroblastoma at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

ACM new Female Vocalist of the year, Ashley McBryde and 5 year old Addi sang a song together from the “The Little Mermaid” and Kix Brooks from Brooks & Dunn shared his cowboy hat with her during their visit.

The country music community has raised more than $800 million for St. Jude since the Country Cares for St. Jude kids program was founded 30 years ago.  Families at St. Jude never receive a bill for treatment, travel, housing or food – because all a family should worry about is helping their child live.

NASHVILLE, TN (March 1, 2019) – With 12 No. 1s to his name and a reputation as one of Country’s most boldly unpredictable stars, MULTI-PLATINUM selling performer THOMAS RHETT returns today with the kinetic romance of his brand new single, “Look What God Gave Her,” available now. “On a rare trajectory” (Variety), Thomas Rhett is set to debut “Look What God Gave Her” and more hotly-anticipated new music this weekend on NBC’s Saturday Night Live tomorrow at 10:30P CT, making him the first Country artist of the show’s current season. Leading into the performance, fans can pre-order his highly anticipated upcoming fourth studio album CENTER POINT ROAD today, before its May 31 release on The Valory Music Co.

“I think I played this song 2,000 times in a month after we first wrote it,” said Thomas Rhett. “It makes me want to dance. It makes me want to move. And to me, the song really is a celebration of how awesome my wife is. I know I’ve done that in the past, but I’ve never really done it in an uptempo way.”

Serving as the first taste of what’s to come, Thomas Rhett describes the irresistibly uptempo jam as “the perfect song to take fans into summer” – and also the perfect track to introduce his next project. Featuring a daring electro-Country sound, stunning harmony stacks and a smooth talking vocal hook, Thomas Rhett co-wrote the infectious standout alongside his hit-making father, Rhett Akins as well as Julian Bunetta, John Ryan and J Cash.

“I was really glad we were able to nail this one,” Thomas Rhett added. “My wife is so beautiful, but at the same time she’s inwardly beautiful, she’s funny, she’s kind, she’s the best mom I know … and she’s hilarious. It’s really just about thanking God for the human being He made, and singing it in a fun way.”
