The Heimerdinger Foundation is set to host the 4th Annual Drive 4 Dinger Celebrity Golf Tournament and Kick-Off Dinner on June 5th and 6th at the Gaylord Springs Golf Links in Nashville, TN. The two-day annual event is held in memory of former NFL/Tennessee Titans Offensive Coordinator Mike Heimerdinger and raises money for the foundation’s meals program. Todd Bowles, Head Coach of the New York Jets, Jeff Fisher, Head Coach of the St. Louis Rams, Scott Hamilton, Olympic Gold Medalist and Hall of Fame Figure Skater and Mike Shanahan, Former NFL Head Coach will lead the celebrity lineup for the golf tournament scheduled for Saturday, June 6th. Former lead singer of country music super group Little Texas, Tim Rushlow, will serve as the special entertainment for the Kickoff Dinner and Auction held on Friday, June 5th. Rushlow is known for his Top 10 hits, including “God Blessed Texas,” “What Might Have Been,” and “Amy’s Back in Austin.” Rushlow, now on a new record label, Row Entertainment, released the critically-acclaimed “Tim Rushlow’s Big Band Christmas” CD, and he’s working on a new collection of big band standards to follow up the holiday CD that is set for release later this year.

Heimerdinger coached for thirty-five years with fifteen of those in the National Football League for the Denver Broncos, Tennessee Titans and the New York Jets. In November of 2010, Heimerdinger was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer and sought to find answers by making changes to his diet and lifestyle. Although he ultimately lost his battle in September of 2011, the information gained throughout his journey has provided the opportunity for his wife, Kathie Heimerdinger, to honor her late husband through The Heimerdinger Foundation meals program.
Friday, June 5th – Kick-Off Dinner & Auction
The two-day event will begin on Friday evening with the Kick-Off Dinner and Auction at the Gaylord Springs Golf Links Clubhouse starting at 5:30pm. Patrons will enjoy a cocktail reception and silent auction before dinner, live auction and special entertainment by Tim Rushlow, former lead singer of country super group Little Texas. Tickets to the Kick-Off Dinner and Auction are sold separately at $75 per ticket / $125 per couple (tables also available) and are on sale now.
Saturday, June 6th – Drive 4 Dinger Celebrity Golf Tournament
Golfers will enjoy playing the Gaylord Springs Golf Links with a celebrity on each team. Registration begins at 11:30am, lunch from 12:00pm to 1:00pm and a shotgun start at 1:30pm. An awards dinner will follow play. Single golfer is $500, foursome is $1,600.

The foundation’s mission is to enable families affected by cancer to have the necessary information, patient support, and resources to seek out effective treatment options. The foundation’s vision is to educate the Nashville community about proper nutrition, healthy meal options, and provide nutrient-rich meals to patients fighting cancer during a time when eating right can make all the difference. The core program of the Heimerdinger Foundation is the meals program that consists of these four basic elements:
1. The food is donated from local farms, farmers markets, grocery stores and producers.
2. Under the guidance of adult mentor chefs, teens volunteer in the Kitchen and prepare beautiful, delicious, and nourishing meals for people dealing with cancer.
3. Meals are delivered by volunteer Delivery Angels free of charge to clients in the Nashville Community (efforts focused on Davidson and Williamson counties.)
4. Clients are supported by volunteer Client Liaisons who visit them at home, help them understand how this food can make a difference in their healing, and stay in weekly communication to answer questions and make sure the food is working for them.
