Album Review: Will Hoge | ‘Never Give In’

Will HogeHow in the heck has it taken me so long to review this album?!? I got a little backlogged, what can I say? Anyway…

This 11-track self-produced project by Will Hoge entitled ‘Never Give In’ is simply stellar.  His voice is a gritty and soulful baritone.  His music is authentic, raw, and deep.  Undeniably country with a slight classic rock feel; think The Eagles meet Bruce Springsteen and Jakob Dylan (The Wallflowers), there you have Will Hoge.

“Bad Ol’ Days” a mid-tempo anthem is a favorite, just has a great vibe to it with the character wishing for the old days.  Now, who hasn’t wished for those every now and then, especially when life gets a little tough.  “Never Give In” is another mid-tempo favorite with lyrics like “life is a walk on a razor thin line, somewhere between the truth and a lie”.  Yes, this album is deep and oh-so-refreshing.

Add it to your music collection, you won’t regret that you did.

Judge for yourself, here he is singing his hit that he wrote released by the Eli Young Band:

Rated 5 out of 5 stars.
