Album Review: Sara Evans | ‘Slow Me Down’; Contest

Sara Evans

Without a doubt, Sara Evan’s is back in full force with her 11-track new release entitled ‘Slow Me Down’ available for purchase on March 11th.

My favorite off the album is the song “Better Off” featuring Vince Gill.  I love the pure emotion that she sings with, the scaled back production, and the blending with Gill’s voice makes it pure magic. With verses such as “if he’s going to go, let him go”, most people will be able to relate to this song of love gone bad. We’ve all been there. Traditional country purists will especially enjoy this song.

“You Never Know” is another favorite and actually has a bit of a rock influence to it. I love that she is not afraid to take risks.

The title track “Slow Me Down” is another standout. Sara brings it to life with a strong and emotional vocal performance.   I especially enjoyed the added string instruments to really make this song powerful.

Honestly, the entire album from top to bottom is powerful and emotional.  Not a weak song in the mix.

I can’t say enough good things about this album. Traditional and contemporary country fans alike will enjoy this release.  There is something for everyone on this album.  Buy it, you’ll be glad that you did!

Rated 5 out of 5 stars.
