After working for more than a year on the reverb-drenched, throwback grooves of her debut full-length album, The Only, the time has finally come for Heidi Feek to share her modern homage to the Nashville sound with the world. And what better way to celebrate than by performing her new songs for the public in a place known for its historic artistic and cultural impact, Nashville’s own Belcourt Theatre.
Before the days of IMAX and movie multiplexes, the iconic double feature show enthralled audiences and entertained the masses during the golden age of music and sound. Staying true to her vintage sensibilities, on October 2nd at 6:30 PM, Feek and her friends at Crosley Radio are bringing back the classic double feature once more by giving audiences two incredible shows for the price of one.
For only $10, fans get to see country music visioneers Joey+Rory perform an acoustic set of brand new music from their upcoming album Made to Last (Farmhouse Recordings) before experiencing a full-band performance of Heidi’s newest tracks from The Only (Western Pin-Up Records). Also included in the cover charge, audience members will receive copies of both new albums almost a week before they hit stores on October 8th.
“This new record has been such a special project for me to work on.” Feek explains. “I’m so honored to be able to present it to everyone by sharing the stage with the people I love most in such an incredible venue.”
The daughter of her country music co-stars, Joey+Rory, Feek grew up making the rounds on Music Row with her songwriting father. Growing up around Nashville’s top tunesmiths (the likes of Waylon Jennings and Harlan Howard), she drew inspiration for her new album from the music she was influenced by as a child.
Self described as “the swoon of Patsy Cline, the vibe of Chris Isaak, and the balls of Neko Case,” Feek’s unique past-meets-present blend of classic songwriting coupled with her modern mezzo voice that renowned music critic Jewly Hight calls a “fine, supple instrument,” make this one live you show don’t want to miss.
Tickets go on sale tomorrow, September 13th, at 10 AM and may be purchased through The Belcourt’s website or in person at the box office.
