Southern Living Announces Biscuits & Jam Concert Series In Nashville

Southern Living announces the first-ever Biscuits & Jam Concert Series, presented by AT&T U-verse®, to be held at the 2013 Southern Living Idea House at Fontanel in Nashville. Emerging country artists will perform on Sunday evenings from July 7 to August 25. Tickets are on sale now for $15 at fontanelmansion.com.

Set against a scenic backdrop of classic Southern architecture and gardens, guests will enjoy acoustic performances and a picnic-themed menu featuring Southern Living Test Kitchen recipes, including a complimentary signature biscuit. Each concert will feature 60-75 minutes of live country music starting at 5:30 p.m. in the courtyard of the Idea House. Following are the artists scheduled to play the series:

July 7:                   Nikki Lane

July 14:                 Jana Kramer

July 21:                 The Farm

July 28:                 Elizabeth Cook

August 4:             Holly Williams

August 11:           Brett Eldredge

August 18:           Sarah Darling

August 25:           DUGAS

Video footage from each show will be available on the new Country DeepTM App on U-verse TV 1, online at Uverse.com/countrydeep and on mobile devices via the U-verse App for smartphones & tablets.2 From September through December, videos from the series will also be available at SouthernLiving.com/Jam.

The idea for a concert series grew from the Southern Living “Biscuits & Jam” editorial video franchise.  In the past, popular country artists have visited Southern Living headquarters in Birmingham, AL to perform a few songs for the staff and enjoy biscuits from the Test Kitchen. SouthernLiving.com shared video from these acoustic performances and the franchise expanded to iconic Southern venues.  Standout performances include Zac Brown Band at the 2012 Southern Living Idea House in Senoia, GA and Kacey Musgraves at Blackberry Farm in Walland, Tennessee.

“We’re thrilled to bring this franchise to life,” said Lindsay Bierman, Editor-in-Chief of Southern Living.  “What better way to celebrate these new artists than in Music City at Fontanel, a place so steeped in Southern music history.”

The Southern Living Idea House, designed to inspire consumers, is open for tours from Wednesday through Sunday, 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. This year, the home was built on Barbara Mandrell’s former estate, and will later reopen as a boutique hotel. Tickets to view the house are $12 and a portion of the proceeds will benefit St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. For more information, visit southernliving.com/ideahouse. This concert series is the third musical attraction on the Fontanel grounds, in addition to the recording studio and outdoor amphitheater. The courtyard at the house can hold 450 attendees at each show.
