Release Of Official 2013 Academy Of Country Music ‘ZinePak, Interview With Co-Founders

Jason Aldean, Luke Bryan, Miranda Lambert, Blake Shelton, Taylor Swift & More Featured in Official 2013 Academy of Country Music Awards ‘ZinePak

What’s a ‘ZinePak, pronounced ZEEN-pack, you might ask? Only the coolest compilation set of music I’ve seen out yet!

For only $10, you get a full 120-page magazine, 35 songs on 2 CDs from the biggest country artists out there and rising stars, plus bumper sticker and ACM ballot.  What a great deal!

I recently spoke with Brittany Hodak and Kim Kaupe, the co-founders of ‘ZinePak to get a little more insight into this company.  Check it out below!

Interview:

1) Tell us when and how ‘ZinePak got started? By who?

Brittany: Kim and I co-founded ‘ZinePak in January 2011. Kim’s background is in publishing and mine is in music, so it’s a combination of our two loves! We met at an ad agency and weren’t getting the chance to express ourselves creatively so we decided to do something about it. We wanted to create a product that allowed fans to immerse themselves in everything they loved about an artist, brand, or entertainment platform.”

2) Do all ‘ZinePaks follow the same format with 2 CDs and a book, plus special item like sticker? Tell the reader what difference is between Zinepak and just a regular cd.

Kim:  “Every ‘ZinePak includes a custom magazine and exclusive merchandise items. Typically a CD is one of those insert items, and the other varies from release to release. We’ve done everything from tattoos to guitar picks to trading cards to bracelets. The common thread is that every item is exclusive to the ‘ZinePak that it is found in. The difference between a regular CD and a ‘ZinePak is that, in a ‘ZinePak, fans get up-close with their favorite artists with exclusive content, including photos, interviews, and insider info.”

3) When putting together the ‘ZinePak for the ACM Awards, who was your favorite interview with? Any funny or especially touching stories you would like to share?

Brittany: There were lots of great interviews, so it’s hard to choose one favorite! I love the story Thomas Rhett told us about the time Blake Shelton helped him with his homework when he was younger. He got a B! We also loved all of the Entertainer of the Year interviews, because it’s exciting to know what all of them are thinking leading up to the big night.

4) What’s coming up next for ‘ZinePaks?

Kim:  “We have another compilation project coming out in late April that we can’t announce yet, but we’re really excited about it! It’s something totally new for us. It will be in stores on April 30, and we’ll be announcing it soon so stay tuned to our Facebook page!

5) Where can people by ‘ZinePaks?

Brittany:  “Most of our ‘ZinePaks, including the ACM Awards ‘ZinePak, are available at Walmart and Walmart.com. The ACM Awards ‘ZinePak can be ordered here:http://www.walmart.com/ip/23657482″

Thanks for taking the time out of your busy schedules to speak all about this product!

NEW YORK, NY (March 15, 2013) – The Academy of Country Music and ‘ZinePak are proud to announce the release of the Official 2013 ACM Awards ‘ZinePak, a limited-edition package spotlighting 2013’s biggest names and brightest new stars.  The collection pairs a 120-page magazine with 35 songs on 2 CDs.  It also includes a ballot with this year’s ACM Awards nominees and an ACM bumper sticker. Leading up to the LIVE broadcast of the 48th Annual Academy of Country Music Awards on Sunday April 7, 2013 at 8:00 PM live ET/delayed PT  on the CBS Television Network, the ‘ZinePak will be  available at Walmart stores nationwide and Walmart.com. The package sells for $10.

“This year’s ACM ZinePak is just what the fans need to be ready when the ACM Awards air on April 7th,” said Lisa Lee, the Academy’s senior vice president of Creative, PR & Production. “They can learn all about this year’s nominees, plus they can discover some great new artists on the horizon. We’re so thankful to our record label partners for helping us create such a great collection to celebrate the ACM Awards.”

This is the third partnership between the ACM and ‘ZinePak. The previous two compilations (2011 and 2012) both debuted in the Top 20 on the Billboard Top Country Albums chart.

Disc One in the collection includes hit songs from all five Entertainer of the Year nominees: Jason Aldean, Luke Bryan, Miranda Lambert, Blake Shelton, and Taylor Swift. Disc Two includes hits from some of country’s brightest rising stars, including X Factor winner Tate Stevens and The Voice winner Cassadee Pope, along with 16 other artists.

All 35 artists lending songs to the compilation provided exclusive interviews, which can be found in the 120-page magazine accompanying the CDs. The magazine gives fans an inside look at the Academy, including the history behind the organization and the Awards, some of the most decorated artists in its history, and the important social and philanthropic activities happening year-round tied to ACM Lifting Lives.  It also includes interviews with GAC hosts Storme Warren and Suzanne Alexander, both longtime ACM veterans. The package also includes a ballot for fans to choose their picks in each category ahead of the Awards broadcast on April 7, and a collectible bumper sticker.

Production of the collection was overseen by New York-based entertainment company ‘ZinePak. ‘ZinePak co-founder Brittany Hodak said, “We are thrilled to partner with the Academy for the third straight year to create a ‘ZinePak for fans. This year’s package is definitely the best yet, including 35 songs and more than 500 exclusive interview responses from country artists. From what happens when Blake and Luke walk into a bar to the wildest thing they’ve ever seen happen at the award show, country’s superstars held nothing back when they answered the questions for this year’s ‘ZinePak.”

“We are proud to be able to offer this package to fans at the incredible value of $10,” added ‘ZinePak co-founder Kim Kaupe. “We’d like to thank our friends at ConAgra’s Child Hunger Ends Here program; Coors Lite, the official beer of the ACM Awards; and GAC – Great American Country – for their partnership on this project.
