Pistol Annies’ Ashley Monroe releases solo CD “Like A Rose” March 5th

Produced by Vince Gill and Justin Niebank, All Songs On The Album Were Co-Written by Monroe

Ashley Monroe, Like A Rose

Ashley Monroe, a member of the critically acclaimed trio Pistol Annies, will release her first Warner Nashville solo album, Like A Rose, on March 5, 2013.

Most folks, as soon as they hear Ashley Monroe, instantly recognize one thing: she’s the real deal. Her songs resonate so profoundly because they reflect the experiences of an artist who, although she is just 26, has already seen both the best and worst that life has to offer.

Like A Rose has been a long time coming. Monroe has been creating music for more than half of her life—attracting along the way kudos from such music world giants as Dolly Parton, Guy Clark, Vince Gill and Jack White. Her new, full-length album release serves both to fill in the back-story and impart to us who she is today. At times her songs are dead serious, at others utterly hilarious, but always Monroe is an original with a compelling story to share.

We named her one of 2013’s artists to watch! Read that article here!

Legends Honored, Superstars Perform at 6th Annual ACM Honors

ACM Honors

Country music fans are aware that the genre has no shortage of awards shows (at least four and counting). Arguably the most prestigious of these, however, is the Academy of Country Music Awards (ACMs) held in Las Vegas in April. What fewer country fans may know is the Academy holds an annual awards show for non-televised industry and specialty awards called the ACM Honors, which took place Monday at The Ryman Auditorium. Song Review: Marlee Scott “Train Wreck” Featuring Vince Gill

Marlee ScottCountry artist Marlee Scott is officially releasing her new single, “Train Wreck”, featuring Vince Gill to radio on January 23 and available for purchase on iTunes on January 24th.

“Train Wreck” was written by songwriting heavy-hitters: Marcus Hummon, Jedd Hughes, and Sarah Buxton.  All have multiple hits on the charts to their names.

“Train Wreck” is an uptempo, fun, sassy, tongue-in-cheek tune that is powerfully-sung by new artist, Marlee Scott.  I equally enjoyed the production of this song done by engineer/producer David Kalmusky.  The song has a fantastic blend of country, rock, and a bluegrass chorus all done with excellent musicianship.

Fun lyrics, great vocals, catchy song, featuring a musical legend, and fantastic musicianship along with masterful production all equal a great song! No complaints here.  Well done!

Rated 5 out of 5 stars.
