Look out Kardashians, the Kringles are coming to town! While the rest of the country is focused on the Powerball lottery, few people realize Santa Claus actually won the big prize, left the North Pole and moved to Hollywood. Or at least that’s how it plays out in Phil Vassar’s new music video for “Santa’s Gone Hollywood” from his Noel Christmas album, which debuts this week.
“Man, Santa’s fed up with the cold and being out of shape, and winning the lottery gave him the opportunity to change all of that,” said Vassar, who wrote the song with Tim Nichols and Jeff Outlaw. “We had a blast walking the streets of LA and hanging out on the beach, and I think (director) Steve did a great job with this video.
The clip begins with Santa sending a video message to Phil commending him for being a good boy and offering to send his private jet to spend some time hanging out in Hollywood. As the music starts, Santa is getting the news from one of his elves that he won it big.
