(FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE – Nashville, TN) Alan Jackson has three decades of accolades and career achievements to his credit, but he’s still adding to them and breaking new ground as he does so.

Friday evening in Nashville – as he wrapped his 2021 tour schedule in front of a sellout crowd of 13,000 at the city’s Bridgestone Arena – Jackson was surprised with a plaque for garnering over 5-billion streams of his music on Pandora. The Pandora Billionaire plaque was presented by UMG Nashville Chairman & CEO Mike Dungan, UMG Nashville President Cindy Mabe, UMG Nashville VP Marketing/Digital Accounts Annie Ortmeier, Pandora’s Senior Manager Artist Marketing & Industry Relations Alina Thompson and Pandora’s Head of Country Programming Jen Danielson.

“Five billion streams? I wish Mama could’ve heard that,” the Country Music Hall of Famer noted from the stage. “She wouldn’t know what a stream is,” the ever-humble Jackson quipped with a smile.

In presenting the honor, Thompson noted the achievement was not Jackson’s alone. ““This is all thanks to your amazing fans who’ve chosen to stream your songs over 5-billion times.” Jackson will be added to Pandora’s Country Billionaires station as a result of the new achievement.

Jackson’s Nashville concert – which capped his 2021 touring schedule – was the icon’s first full-scale Music City concert in over four years. “For those who attended, these songs were more than just radio hits – they…mirrored the stories of their lives,” Billboard said of the event. The Tennessean dubbed the concert “a night to remember,” while Music Row noted, “Jackson commanded the Bridgestone stage with charisma and pride.”

“I just want to say ‘Thank you’ to people like y’all who have supported my music,” the entertainer said. “It’s been a crazy ride.”

Pandora Reveals Country Artists To Watch For 2020

Country music will continue to be both genre-bending and loyal to its “three chords and the truth” roots.  We will likely continue to see successful cross-genre collaborations, as the country audience has continued to diversify.  However, the longstanding traditions of the classic, fiddle-and-steel-laced sound mixed with autobiographical and often cinematic storytelling are here to stay.  Pandora’s 2020 Country Artists to Watch list is a unique blend of artists representing both of these styles…and so much more. From an American Idol favorite to an indie songwriter moving from behind the scenes to center stage, our list not only runs the gamut in career resumes but also in melodic territory – with many dabbling in pop, soul, R&B and everything in between. We are eager to see how these 15 artists will make their marks on the country music genre, and continue to unleash Nashville’s sonic floodgates.

Check out the Country Artists to Watch 2020 playlist HERE.

Brandon Ratcliff: Brandon Ratcliff first made waves by re-writing the “Rules of Breaking Up,” his R&B-tinged debut single, and now the Louisiana native continues to ride his wave of eclectic musical influences and heartfelt lyrics with the moving “Slow Down Hometown.”

Caylee Hammack: Caylee Hammack was blessed with an otherworldly voice, incredible songwriting talent and clearly more energy than the average human being. Her caffeinated brand of country music merges authenticity with grit, and a whole lot of heart. She wears her family backstory on her sleeve on the infectious “Family Tree” while she dives in diverse sonic territory with the biting “Just Friends.”

ERNEST: ERNEST is the self-proclaimed “Tropical Cowboy” of country music, with influences as polar opposite as Eminem and George Strait. But it’s more of his Jimmy Buffett idolization that comes out in songs he’s written for Jake Owen, Chris Lane and Florida Georgia Line. Major songwriting success led to his own record deal, with his Locals Only LP highlighting his relatability, his laid back vibe, and his affinity for the banjo.

Gabby Barrett: Gabby Barrett first made a name for herself on “American Idol” but has since done what most contestants struggle to do: make a name for herself beyond the show. And she did it with a song she wrote on her own terms, the kiss-off to a cheating ex, “I Hope” – which showcases her killer voice and clever way with words.

Hailey Whitters: A country traditionalist with an ethereal voice, Hailey Whitters has been hitting the Music Row pavement for more than a decade as a songwriter who refuses to gloss up her act to make the airwaves. “I need longer lashes and a shorter dress to be that overnight success,” she sings of her country music journey on the autobiographical “Ten Year Town.” Her authenticity is finally paying off.

Ingrid Andress: Berklee-trained musician Ingrid Andress is the epitome of that old phrase “wise beyond her years” when it comes to writing lyrics that may be about her own experiences but are universally relatable. Multi-faceted in her talents and lyrical prowess, she shows her unapologetically rebellious side in the clever “Lady Like” and vulnerable side in the touching “More Hearts Than Mine” and exquisite “Both.”

John King: Georgia native John King celebrated a Number One hit as a songwriter (Randy Houser’s “We Went”) before seeing his own name on the charts with “Tonight Tonight” – also used as the NFL’s Thursday night football theme song. Current single “Close” fuses his Southern rock and country influences with an infectious melody and heartfelt lyrics that reflect his charming, southern gentleman personality.

King Calaway: King Calaway is far from a “boy band.” The six guys who make up this country-pop group are all multi-instrumentalists who trade lead vocals on every track of their excellent debut album, Rivers. With members from both sides of the pond – from Ohio and Tennessee to Gibraltar and Scotland – King Calaway brings a dynamic the country music world has never seen, along with a rush of adrenaline to their live performances.

Kylie Morgan: In the competitive country music landscape where it’s particularly crucial for female artists to carve their own paths, Kylie Morgan makes her mark as a “Boy’s Girl” with truly unique vocal and writing styles. “I’ll never be Miss Tennessee/More whiskey, less pearls,” she sings in her breakthrough hit. That sassy side is accompanied by a long catalog of self-penned, autobiographical tunes that tackle topics from breakups to bullies.

Lainey Wilson: Country-to-the-core singer/songwriter Lainey Wilson is carving her own path with what she calls “bell bottom country” – a kind of music that reflects everything from her Louisiana roots to her free spirit to her eclectic fashion choices. Her debut EP, Redneck Hollywood, offers a snapshot of her life – with its first single, “Dirty Looks” also showing her sultry side.

Larry Fleet: Larry Fleet got his start at the ripe old age of 6, performing in his family’s bluegrass band. The now 20-something singer stays true to his roots with cinematic storytelling and a show-stopping, soulful voice.  The aptly-titled new album, Workin’ Hard, catalogs his rise to country success through relatable, toe-tapping tunes.

Madison Kozak: Madison Kozak’s father introduced her to country music, and she pays homage to him with her poignant debut single, “First Last Name” – which she wrote as a Father’s Day gift to her dad. The singer/songwriter/guitarist is the first artist signed to celebrated songwriter Nicolle Galyon’s female-focused Songs and Daughters record label, and Kozak follows in Galyon’s footsteps with introspective songwriting and similarly honeyed vocals.

Seaforth: Aussie musicians Tom Jordan and Mitch Thompson of Seaforth joke that Keith Urban is their uncle, but all humor aside, few come as close to the country icon’s stage presence and infectious fusion of country, pop and rock. Debut single “Love That” is a hook-filled tune that showcases their romantic side and unique vocal style.

Riley Green: Riley Green is the only artist on our list to already have a Number One song – his romantic, spirited earworm, “There Was This Girl.” The Alabama-bred songwriter is a seasoned performer who can rile up a crowd with a drinking song as well as he can hush them with a heartbreaker- such as his moving new tune, “I Wish Grandpas Never Died.”

Tenille Townes: The U.S. is catching up to what Canada has known for years: Tenille Townes has the voice of an angel and a collection of songs that stand the test of time. The reigning CCMA Female Vocalist idolized Shania Twain as a young aspiring singer – and you can see that influence in her dynamic live performances. But her introspective, emotional lyrics are more reflective of her affinity for legends like Patty Griffin and Emmylou Harris and their emotive pens.

Pandora Live Returns To Nashville Old Dominion, Carly Pearce And Ryan Griffin To Perform Exclusive Concert On November 25 At Marathon Music Works

NEW YORK, NY – October 30, 2019 – Pandora and SiriusXM announced today that two-time ACM Award Group of the Year winners, Old Dominion will perform in Nashville as part of the “Pandora Live” concert series.  CMA Awards New Artist of the Year nominee Carly Pearce and Ryan Griffin are confirmed to open the show that will take place at Nashville’s Marathon Music Works on November 25.  Pandora listeners who are 21 and over can RSVP for the free event HERE.

The special “Pandora Live” performance will be co-hosted by Pandora’s Head of Country Music, Beville Dunkerley and SiriusXM host Storme Warren. Fans unable to attend the show can still share in the excitement during SiriusXM’s live broadcast of Old Dominion’s set on The Highway (ch. 56).

Acclaimed CMA Group of the Year, Old Dominion has emerged as one of the hottest breaking bands out of Nashville, fusing clever lyrics and an infectious sound. Their lyrical wit and hook heavy songwriting certainly prove to be a thriving method.  Since their start in 2014 when they were named a SiriusXM Highway Find, they’ve notched seven #1 singles at country radio and earn close to 5 million spins a week on Pandora.  Their current single “One Man Band” has landed on the Pandora Top Spins Chart for thirteen consecutive weeks. The band is again nominated for Vocal Group of the Year at the upcoming 2019 CMA Awards and their self-titled third album was just released on October 25.

Spearheading a trio of chart-toppers on SiriusXM (where she was named a Highway Find in 2016), “Every Little Thing” designated Carly as the highest charting solo female debut since July 2015 and incorporated her into an elite group of only three women to accomplish this feat in the last decade.  The track landed on the Pandora Top Spin Chart for 16 consecutive weeks and won the CMT Music Award for Breakthrough Video of the Year. Carly recently released a duet with Lee Brice, “I Hope You’re Happy Now,” which she penned with Luke Combs, Jonathan Singleton and Randy Montana. The track offers another preview from her forthcoming sophomore album due in 2020.

A SiriusXM’s Highway Find and one of Rolling Stone’s 10 New Country Artists You Need to Know, Ryan Griffin is poised for his breakout Country moment.  After making his mark as a co-writer on Kelsea Ballerini’s platinum single “Dibs,” Ryan recently released his debut “Right Here Right Now” to critical praise.  The “Pandora Live” stage will feel like home as Ryan recently opened for Old Dominion on tour and is currently on the road with Carly Pearce.

“The trio of Old Dominion, Carly Pearce and Ryan Griffin will be a pure shot of adrenaline to this intimate stage, not to mention hit after hit we all know by heart,” says Beville Dunkerley, Pandora’s Head of Country Music. “This exclusive Pandora Live event will mark Old Dominion’s first Nashville show since the release of their excellent eponymous album, with Carly and Ryan hot on the heels of two of this year’s most exciting new singles, as well.”

Pandora Live attendees will be treated to unique onsite experiences and giveaways from sponsors including Direct Auto Insurance, Pillsbury™, Sierra™, The Convenience Stores of Speedway, Tony Chachere’s® Famous Creole Cuisine, U.S. Bank and Wendy’s®.

Pandora Live Shines With First All-Female Line-Up

On Monday, June 3rd, Pandora returned to town with their annual CMA Fest week event, Pandora Live, at the beautiful and historic Marathon Music Works in Nashville.

This year’s event featured crowd-pleasing performances by Maren Morris, Lindsay Ell, and Tenille Townes, the first all-female line-up in the history of the event in Nashville.

Always a popular, free event, this year’s Pandora Live set record numbers in attendance. The line to get inside the venue wrapped around the block at Marathon Village as music fans stood patiently in line for hours prior fighting the heat and humidity just for the opportunity to see the show.

The crowd was not disappointed and the record-setting concert in attendance featuring the all-female line-up demonstrated that country music fans WILL show up in droves and certainly DO want to hear from the many talented female artists in country music. Hope you are taking notice, country radio! This is a conversation that has continued for too long among the industry and fans alike. Happy to see Pandora, CMT, and more featuring and supporting women. Each of the three artists featured are also members of CMT Next Women of Country.

GRAMMY winner Maren Morris closed out the night as headliner and was joined on-stage at one point by country artist and boyfriend, Ryan Hurd, to sing “All My Favorite People”. ACM Award nominee Lindsay Ell always stuns with her stellar electric guitar skills. She has grown so much as an artist, has really found her voice, and gained strong stage presence as a performer gaining experience as she continuously tours all over the world. New artist Tenille Townes always delights the crowd with her sweet, approachable presence and unique vocals.

Preceeding the musical performances, fans had an opportunity to taste some Twisted Tea posing with their fun photo opportunity simulating floating on water, nibble on some fresh Krystal cheeseburgers and fried apple pies, sample some Burt’s Bees products, make their own crown at Baskin-Robbins, pose for a picture with the USAA photo opportunity that included a giant acoustic guitar, and even get a shave or haircut at the mobile barber shop from Cremo, and free giveaways from Shipt. All thanks to these generous sponsors, which is always a fun interactive experience that changes up at each of the Pandora Live events.

Be sure to download the free Pandora app on your phones at Google Play or Apple store. I know it is a favorite of mine to listen to, especially as I’m walking or by the pool.

Pandora LIVE ft. Maren Morris, Lindsay Ell & Tenille Townes; Pandora Listeners Can RSVP To Attend

No halos will be lost when Pandora hosts Pandora LIVE in Nashville on June 3rd at Marathon Music Works.  Maren Morris, along with Lindsay Ell and Tenille Townes will celebrate a night of trail-blazing, female empowerment at the free concert.  The all-female bill is in response for a call to action from many artists, including Maren herself, that women in country music need more representation in Nashville and beyond.  Any Pandora listener can RSVP HERE.

Maren Morris’ performance will broadcast live on SiriusXM’s The Highway channel at 10:00 pm ET, marking the first Pandora LIVE event to broadcast on SiriusXM since Pandora was acquired earlier this year.

Maren Morris has over 484 million lifetime streams on Pandora, which helped her newest album GIRL shatter the record for largest ever debut streaming week for a country album by a woman.  The Grammy Award, Billboard Music Award, ACM Music Award, CMA Music Award and iHeartRadio Music Award winner is known for her pop aesthetic, unapologetic style and has quickly become the new face of modern country.

Lindsay Ell saw her full length country album debut The Project named Billboard’s Best Country Album of 2017.  Additionally, her song “Criminal” marked her first U.S. Top 20 and was the first No. 1 song in over 10 years by a solo female on the Canadian Country Radio Chart.  As if those feats weren’t enough, she’s quickly earned 47.6 million lifetime streams on Pandora as well as toured with Brad Paisley, Keith Urban, Luke Bryan, Sugarland and more, solidifying her as a standout in the genre.

Opening act Tenille Townes is quickly gaining ground in the country world after being on the road last year with Miranda Lambert and Little Big Town helping her earn over 5 million lifetime streams on Pandora.  With her first single “Somebody’s Daughter” hitting the No. 1 spot at Canadian country radio, Tenille became the first Canadian country artist to have a debut single go No. 1 in the Mediabase Canada era.  She’s currently on tour with Dierks Bentley and a part of Opry Entertainment’s “Opry NextStage” program for 2019 which only highlights 4 rising country artists a year.

“Maren helped us kick off our Sound On campaign earlier this year and we’re thrilled to have her mainstage for Pandora LIVE,” says Jeff Zuchowski, Vice President of Label Relations at Pandora. “The triple threat of her, Lindsay and Tenille will make for an extraordinary evening for Pandora listeners.”

Pandora will build out a multi-level interactive event for guests including unique onsite experiences and giveaways.  Pandora LIVE sponsors for this event include Baskin-Robbins®, Burt’s Bees®, Cremo®, Shipt, Spindrift® sparkling water, The Krystal Company, Twisted Tea Hard Iced Tea and USAA.

Pandora Stories Combine The Best Of Podcasts & Playlists

Lennon and McCartney, chocolate and peanut butter, Tango & Cash…some things just go great together. That’s how we feel about music playlists and podcasts, so today we’re introducing Pandora Stories, which combine the storytelling possibilities of podcasts with the musical power of playlists.

Podcasts can tell stories about music, but generally don’t include full songs. And playlists have songs, but lack personal context from the artists behind them. Pandora Stories have arrived to fill that void.

Pandora Stories give artists and creators of all kinds – musicians, actors, filmmakers, athletes, celebs, authors, and beyond – a new way to connect with fans in an intimate and authentic way, in their own words, using the power of music.

The first collection of Pandora Stories features John Legend, Daddy Yankee, Lauren Alaina, Perry Farrell, Wes Anderson music supervisor Randall Poster, Amy Winehouse collaborator and Dap-Kings guitarist Tommy Brenneck, and a Pandora-hosted story exploring “Love Songs That Really Aren’t Love Songs,” with forthcoming stories from 2 Chainz, Rob Thomas and many more.

John Legend’s Glorious Journey

The multi-talented singer, songwriter, record producer, activist and actor tells the personal stories behind some of his greatest hits including “Glory,” “All of Me,” and brand-new single, “Preach.”

Pasito a Pasito Con Daddy Yankee

In this special Spanish-language Pandora Story, unparalleled Latin artist Daddy Yankee takes you from his early days as a breakout reggaeton star to the global phenomenon he is today, and shares some of his most amazing adventures along the way.

Lauren Alaina is Doin’ Just Fine

The country-pop songstress takes listeners from her breakout on American Idol to the release of her new album, “Ladies in the 90s,” a tribute to Whitney Houston, Britney Spears, Shania Twain, and the musical heroes of her childhood.

Perry Farrell’s Ocean-Sized Tales

Jane’s Addiction frontman and Lollapalooza co-founder Perry Farrell has spent his career on the edge of popular culture. Now, in advance of his new project, Kind Heaven Orchestra, the alt-rock luminary takes listeners on a wild ride through his musical catalogue.

Brooklyn Soul with Tommy Brenneck

Songwriter, producer and guitarist Tommy “TNT” Brenneck is the backbone of the music scene that featured the likes of Sharon Jones and Charles Bradley, and served up backing tracks for rappers like Jay-Z and Kendrick Lamar. Brenneck takes us on a journey through the soul of his funky borough.

The Music of Wes Anderson with Randall Poster

Wes Anderson’s longtime music supervisor and collaborator Randall Poster walks us through his prolific association with the acclaimed director, and shares some of his favorite musical moments from beloved films like Rushmore and Moonrise Kingdom.

Love Songs That Aren’t Really Love Songs

When is a love song not a love song? Quite often, as it turns out. If you’re putting together a romantic playlist for that certain special someone, you might want to listen closely to the lyrics in songs like “Stay with Me” and “Every Breath You Take” before you hit play.

Pandora’s Back Roads Event at Marathon Music Works The Perfect Start To A Music-Filled Week

We always enjoy it when music streaming giant, Pandora, hosts special music events in town.  Last week’s Back Roads was no exception!

In celebration of Pandora’s newest country station, Back Roads, Pandora hosted another of their semi-annual invitation-only events at Nashville’s Marathon Music Works, which is part of a hip historic entertainment complex located near downtown that was converted from an old car factory in the early 1900’s.

Attendees enjoyed an American favorite of loaded hot dogs and potato chips provided by Ballpark.  Samples of the tasty alchoholic beverage, Twisted Tea, which is sure to become a southern favorite with its spin on sweet tea.

Before the show began, everyone was able to enjoy a fun scavenger hunt-style game to find sponsors, get their game cards punched, gather a fun keepsake from each sponsor, and once found all of them, collect a bigger keepsake from the evening.  This is always such a hit and I am glad they keep this trend going.

Another norm for Pandora events is their highly-creative approach to event space decor and photobooths scattered around the venue.  We especially loved the cool air coming out of the ceiling where you could see words formed within the cool air and smoke coming out.  So cool looking AND feeling!

The night began with a great performance from Warner Music’s Morgan Evans who performed a solo set, but with his foot peddles, the Australian-born performer was able to make it sound like a full band.  Always amazes us how some artists can create that feat with just their feet!

Big Machine’s country songstress Carly Pearce performed next with a stirring full band set including her first number one hit, “Every Little Thing”.

Closing out the evening was country superstar Brad Paisley, who graciously stepped in to fill the spot last minute when Lady Antebellum had to cancel unexpectedly due to unforeseen circumstances.  We have to admit we were a little disappointed to not get to see Lady A do their thing since we have been big fans of their music since they first started.  However, Brad Paisley did a fantastic job of entertaining the stand room only crowd with his more traditional brand of country music and humor.  He was an added delight to an already stellar line-up.

Thanks so much to Pandora for having us out!
