Jordan Davis’ “Take It From Me” Hits No.1 On Country Airplay Chart

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – MCA Nashville’s exciting newcomer Jordan Davis claims the No.1 spot on the Mediabase country airplay chart this week with his infectious second single “Take It From Me”. The upbeat track is featured on Jordan’s debut album Home State and was co-written by Jordan along with his brother, Jacob Davis, and Jason Gantt.

 

“Jacob and I had a dream of having a No.1 song together when we moved to Nashville and we both cannot thank everyone enough for their support of this tune,” says Jordan. “From country radio to the fans, thank you from the bottom of my heart.”

Nashville – February 27, 2019– Four-time Entertainer of the Year Luke Bryan claims the top spot on the MEDIABASE country singles chart this week with the title track of his What Makes You Country album. “What Makes You Country,” a platinum selling single written by Luke, Dallas Davidson and Ashley Gorley, becomes Luke’s 22nd career #1 single and the fourth consecutive #1 single from the album.

“We reminisced our childhoods and how we were raised when we got together to write this one,” shares Luke. “A small town upbringing learning work ethic, manners, how to hunt and fish. Luke Combs’ “Beautiful Crazy” Is #1 At Billboard Country Airplay Chart This Week, First Artist In History To Send First Five Singles To Top Of Chart

Luke Combs’ historic success continues this week with his latest single, “Beautiful Crazy,” reaching #1 on Billboard’s Country Airplay, Hot Country Songs, Country Streaming Songs and Country Digital Song Sales charts. This is his fastest rising single to date (16 weeks) and makes Combs the first artist ever to send his first five singles to the top of Billboard’s Country Airplay chart. “Beautiful Crazy” is also the first country single shipped to radio already platinum-certified since Taylor Swift’s “Red” in 2013 and has more than 250 million on-demand streams. Current multi-CMA nominee THOMAS RHETT celebrated his 10th and 11th No. 1 singles at Nashville’s Hi-Fi Clyde’s yesterday with friends and family and hosted by BMI and ASCAP. The newly 2X PLATNIUM certified “Marry Me” was written by Thomas Rhett, Ashley Gorley, Jesse Frasure and Shane McAnally and the GOLD certified “Life Changes” written by Thomas Rhett, Rhett Akins, Ashley Gorley and Jesse Frasure were both produced by Dan Huff, Jesse Frasure and Thomas Rhett. Following LIFE CHANGES’ four previous GOLD-or-better selling chart-topping singles, Thomas Rhett’s new single “Sixteen” was also the most added song at Country radio this week.

Blake Shelton Celebrates #1 Hits “I’ll Name the Dogs” And “Every Time I Hear That Song” With BMI And ASCAP

Blake Shelton has been consistently putting out #1 hits since 2001 with Warner Music Nashville, and this past Tuesday, September 18, he celebrated two more chart-topping songs: “I’ll Name the Dogs,” and “Every Time I Hear That Song.”

Shelton opened the 3rd floor of his downtown bar, Ole Red, to honor the writers, producers, and everyone involved with the success of both songs.  

BMI and ASCAP both sponsored the celebration.  Writers from both organizations collaborated on the songs.

ASCAP writer Aimee Mayo and her husband, BMI writer Chris Lindsey, worked with brothers Brad and Brett Warren (also with BMI) to create “Every Time I Hear That Song”.  They took the stage first, joined by Shelton and his producer, Scott Hendricks. Hendricks was celebrating his 70th and 71st number one songs.

BMI’s David Preston awarded Mayo with a stunning brand-new Taylor 210e DLX acoustic guitar.  BMI-affiliated songwriters are given a guitar to honor their first No. 1 single with the company.  The group was then presented with their #1 medallions and each gave a small speech.  Shelton and Lindsay joked that the song was a “duh,” meaning they knew it would be a hit from the start.

Next to take the stage were ASCAP writers Ben Hayslip and Matt Dragstrem who teamed up with BMI writer Josh Thompson to create the song, “I’ll Name the Dogs”.  In a similar fashion, the group was presented with their medallions and given the stage for a short speech.

Shelton addressed the audience and thanked the people who “worked their asses off” to get both songs to the top of the charts.  He said that he fell in love with the song, “I’ll Name the Dogs”, and that he and girlfriend, Gwen Stefani, listened to the demo several times on repeat before recording it.

At the end of his speech, Shelton admitted that he’s tried and failed at writing country songs, jokingly stating: “For God’s sake, write me another one whenever you get a chance.”

Thomas Rhett Notches 11th Career No. 1 Hit + Announces LIFE CHANGES DELUXE, Out 9/21

Just days before its one year anniversary, current multi-CMA Awards nominee Thomas Rhett’s PLATINUM-certified album LIFE CHANGES earns its fourth consecutive chart-topping hit with the title track, notching his 11th career No. 1. Morgan Evans Lands First U.S. #1 With Debut Single “Kiss Somebody”

Jordan Davis Receives Platinum Plaque

MCA Nashville’s Jordan Davis was presented with a plaque yesterday at Fat Bottom Brewery in Nashville surrounded by industry friends to commemorate his debut single “Singles You Up” reaching No.1 on the country airplay charts as well as receiving Platinum Certification by the RIAA. Jordan co-wrote the infectious track that has accumulated over 200 million total streams after peaking at No.2 on the Spotify US Viral Chart and even reaching the Spotify Global Viral Chart. “Singles You Up” also ranks as Country Aircheck’s most-played song of 2018.

Jordan Davis Celebrates First #1 Song “Singles You Up” At Fat Bottom Brewery

As “Singles You Up” (written with Steven Dale Jones and Justin Ebach) currently garners 200,000,000 streams, it is the most played song by a male artist on country radio in 2018 thus far and gains such quick momentum for a debut release, Jordan Davis is proving that he is one to watch with the success of his first UMG/MCA released project “Home State”, produced by Paul DiGiovanni.

 

The Louisiana native moved to Nashville with the hopes of being a songwriter, not necessarily wanting to be in the spotlight as an artist. Davis paid his dues, working as a bartender while building his catalog and seeking a publishing deal, ultimately securing a recording contract with Universal Music Group in 2016.
Davis continues to tour this summer extensively into the fall with Jake Owen and Chris Janson. When asked what he has gained through the experience, his response was: “I am always learning and standing on the side of the stage watching and taking notes, looking to see how I can make my live show better”.

 

Focus On The 615 asked Davis who his dream collaboration would be with, especially having the leverage of a #1 song on the charts. His answer was quick and confident:

 

“John Prine. I respect him so much! I came to Nashville as a songwriter first. John Prine is a storyteller and his career is one that I respect to the core”.

 

With Jordan Davis continuing to make his mark as an artist and songwriter, his goal to work with John Prine could possibly become a reality. That balance of authenticity and catering to country radio is one that Davis seems to easily combine. A combination destined for longevity in a constantly changing music climate.

Scotty McCreery Celebrates #1 For “Five More Minutes”

Scotty McCreery, Frank Rogers and Monty Criswell are the trio of collaborators on Scotty’s new, independently released #1 hit, “Five More Minutes”.  The writing session took place over three years ago, just after the death of Scotty’s Grandfather.  

“Its probably my favorite song,” Scotty told reporters attending his number one party at the Nashville CMA headquarters. “Its so personal, yet universal because so many can relate to the message”.  

When asked what Scotty would say to his grandfather if he had 5 more minutes with him, McCreery answered,  “At this point in my life I think I’d ask him advice as far as being a husband.” Scotty’s grandfather and grandmother had a “long and happy” 58 years of marriage.  Grandpa was said to not want to trade up his double bed for a king because “he’d be further away from grandma and he didn’t want that.”

Scotty ‘s long time sweetheart, Gabi Dugal was close by as he lovingly doted over marrying his best friend, “She knows everything about me.”  He plans on singing to her at the wedding but is not sure on the song selection as of late. Maybe he needs 5 more minutes to think about it.

In addition, Scotty McCreery was surprised onstage during the presentations from BMI and ASCAP with the news that “Five More Minutes” had also been certified platinum by the RIAA.
