ASCAP, BMI, the CMA and Music Row celebrated the team behind Mercury Nashville recording artist Billy Currington’s tenth chart-topping single, “Don’t It,” at a party held at the CMA offices on Monday, August 3rd. The hit song was co-penned by ASCAP songwriters Ashley Gorley and Jaren Johnston, who were honored for their twenty-first and sixth #1 songs, respectively, along with BMI co-writer Ross Copperman, who celebrated his fourth chart-topper. Publishers Combustion Music, Sony ATV Music Publishing and Warner Chappell Music Publishing were also on hand to congratulate the group. “Don’t It,” which was released in October of 2014 as the first single from Billy Currington’s upcoming sixth studio album, was produced by critically-acclaimed ASCAP producer Dann Huff.
