Charlie Worsham Featured On NPR’S “All Things Considered”

In celebration of his acclaimed new album, Beginning of Things, Charlie Worsham was recently featured on NPR’s “All Things Considered.” Listen to the full interview HERE. Of the acclaimed singer, songwriter and musician, NPR praises, “…he’s the sort of artist who can do it all. As he returns with his second album, Beginning Of Things, he’s got everybody in the know in Nashville rooting for him.”
Released last month on on Warner Bros. Records / Warner Music Nashville (purchase here), Beginning Of Things continues to receive widespread critical praise—NPR Music’s Ann Powers asserts, “Worsham is the guy many country music lovers in Nashville love the most, though the rest of the world is only just recognizing his enormous skill and grace.” She continues, “Like [Miranda] Lambert, Worsham is making a space in country music for subtle challenges, using humor and insight and undeniable musical talent. He’s a serious contender, even as he makes us all smile.”
Additionally, the official music video for Worsham’s single, “Cut Your Groove,” recently premiered at CMT and can now be viewed/shared here. Of the song and video, CMT praises, “…an uplifting and mighty ode to staying the course and never giving up…The empowering lyrics of Worsham’s stunning debut track were put into motion in the heartwarming video directed by Sam Siske.”
Worsham is currently in the midst on an extensive co-headlining tour with Brandy Clark, which includes upcoming shows in Birmingham, Nashville, Atlanta, Denver, Portland and more. He’ll also join Tim McGraw and Faith Hill for select performances as part of their SOUL2SOUL Tour later this summer. See below for full details.

Recent critical acclaim for Beginning Of Things

“…shows him to be one of country’s most formidable dark horses,
a quiet contender worthy of the attention and airplay claimed by his
less cerebral contemporaries.” —American Songwriter
“If ever there was a champion for truth in life and music, it would hands-
down be Charlie Worsham.”—CMT
“…a solid reminder that no matter what happens in life, the world keeps
spinning…strings and surprise horns provide an uplifting accompaniment to
the song’s positive message.”—CMT
“At its best, country music is a preserve for the up-close and personal. From Merle Haggard to Miranda Lambert, the genre’s most powerful storytellers illuminate big subjects like family, love or work by focusing on small details unfolding in kitchens, on back porches or in farm fields. ‘The Beginning Of Things,’ the title track from Charlie Worsham’s excellent upcoming second album, demonstrates this art with uncommon grace and intelligence.”—NPR Music
“His understated, warm vocal exudes sympathy, exactly nailing the part in the storytelling process where words are shaped by phrasing and intonation. Behind
him, an ace band…crafts an environment that’s simple and inviting, encouraging the listener to sit back and think about what’s being said.” —NPR Music
“…a combination of that gentle spirit and rebellious streak – with plenty of
room to showcase his serious guitar chops.”—Rolling Stone
“…a skillful, dazzling array of musical genres that suggest the work of a
seasoned veteran.”—Rolling Stone
“For country fans, Beginning of Things is already one of the most-anticipated
records of 2017.”—The Tennessean
Beginning of Things includes 13 new songs, 9 of which Worsham co-wrote, and was co-produced by Frank Liddell (Miranda Lambert, Lee Ann Womack, Aubrie Sellers) and Eric Masse (Rayland Baxter, Mikky Ekko) with Arturo Buenahora, Jr. (Eric Church, Dierks Bentley) serving as the Executive Producer.
Of the album, Worsham comments, “We had so much fun! I had fallen out of love with music, and making this record put me back in love with it on a level I hadn’t felt since I was a teenager. Beginning Of Things was a challenge in surrendering control and trusting my own talent. I’m confident that these songs and these recordings capture my musical geography and personal truth, and at the end of the day, I’m convinced that is the ultimate purpose of an artist—to speak one’s truth.”
Born and raised in Mississippi, Worsham attended Grenada High School and went on to study at Boston’s prestigious Berklee College of Music. In addition to his life as a working musician, Worsham is actively involved in music education and, last year, founded the Follow Your Heart Scholarship Fund in partnership with The Community Foundation of Middle Tennessee. The fund supports the youth of Grenada, Mississippi—his hometown—who possess uncommon talent and desire to achieve great things in the arts. In its first year, the organization has raised nearly $50,000. More information can be found at www.FollowYourHeartArts.org.
Beginning of Things is Worsham’s second full-length album and follows 2013’s Rubberband, which received widespread acclaim. American Songwriter calls Worsham, “the sort of triple threat artist that seems in short supply on Music Row these days. He writes well, sings well, and is a skilled and tasteful guitarist to boot,” while Rolling Stone asserts, “A fleet-fingered guitarist and empathetic vocalist, his talent is reminiscent of a young Keith Urban in all the best ways.”

Sara Evans Sets July 21 For Release Of New Album, WORDS

Days after Country Music star and entrepreneur SARA EVANS announced the launch of her own record label – Born To Fly Records – the multi-platinum entertainer has revealed additional details about her highly-anticipated forthcoming album. The ACM Female Vocalist of the Year divulged yesterday that her brand new album Words will release on July 21. Fourteen separate female songwriters, including powerhouses Ashley Monroe, Caitlyn Smith, Hillary Lindsey, Hillary Scott, Liz Hengber, Sonya Isaacs and of course Sara herself, contribute their words to the stunning, upcoming record.

“When I’m listening to a song, it’s the lyrics and the stories they tell that matter most to me,” said Sara. “Not only is ‘Words’ the title to one of the songs on my album but in listening to new music for the record, I was always looking for lyrics that moved me and expressed a powerful range of emotions. Women are natural storytellers and I’m proud to have so many amazing female songwriters represented on this record.”

Words marks a creative reunion for Evans, pairing her with frequent co-producer Mark Bright (2005’s Real Fine Place, 2014’s Slow Me Down) while Tracy Gershon provides A&R direction. Her daughter Olivia (14) even contributes background vocals to the record.

Beginning today, limited-edition, fan packages are available for pre-order at http://smarturl.it/SEStore. Pricing starts at $11.99 and include a variety of bundles ranging from a signed CD or vinyl version of Words, a Sara Evans t-shirt, journal, mug or acoustic guitar.

Additional details about Sara’s new album Words will be revealed in the coming weeks. Fans can catch up with Sara on the road with dates booked throughout the year. For more details, check out saraevans.com.

About Sara Evans: Multi-platinum entertainer SARA EVANS is at the top of her game. With five No. 1 Country singles including “No Place That Far,” “Suds In The Bucket, “A Real Fine Place To Start,” “Born to Fly,” and “A Little Bit Stronger,” which spent 2 weeks in the top spot and was certified platinum by the R.I.A.A., Sara thrills audiences across the U.S. playing close to 100 shows each year. Her “stunning, country voice” (Rolling Stone) has earned her the prestigious Academy of Country Music Top Female vocalist accolade as well as numerous American Music Awards, Billboard Music Awards, Country Music Association, CMT and Grammy Awards nominations. In addition, the CMA awarded Video of the Year honors for her hit chart-topping single, “Born to Fly” from her double-platinum album of the same name. In 2014 Evans released her critically acclaimed seventh studio album Slow Me Down, which debuted at #2 on the Country Album Chart and landed in the Top 10 on the Billboard 200 chart, winning over fans and media alike and dubbed her best album to date. The Swon Brothers Release

The Swon Brothers spent the better part of 2016 putting an indelible notch in their live performance belt. The sibling duo played their first show on January 30th in Jacksonville, FL on Carrie Underwood’s Storyteller Tour and ended their year in their hometown of Muskogee, OK to a SOLD-OUT house for a show to benefit their local Salvation Army post on December 16th. But somehow, in between those arduous hours on the road, the brothers found time to record their most authentic record to date, and one they are certainly proud of.
The new EP, titled PRETTY COOL SCARS and produced by Brad Hill, will be released on March 17th and the brothers have released a brand new single from PRETTY COOL SCARS called “Don’t Call Me.”
“This is our first time to work with Brad, who produced records that garnered Grammy nominations and awards this year, and for good reason.  He’s a very talented guy.  He brought out sides of us that we didn’t even know were there, both musically and vocally.  He actually brought this song to us also, he’s got a great ear,” says Zach.
The brothers describe “Don’t Call Me” as a song about being in a bad situation but becoming stronger despite the circumstances.
“It’s a song we can all relate to,” says Colton. “It’s about finally getting to a point where you get over the things you need to get over, and you can move on with your life.  I think it can represent people in a lot of different ways, and then it becomes much more than a song at that point.”
“We always like to try out songs in our live show before we make the decision to record them.  We like to listen to our fans that way, and hands down, our fans gave us every indication that this was definitely a keeper. Me and my brother knew we had something golden when we just sat down and played it for the first time in the living room with just the two of us, and it just felt like it was written for us,” says, Zach.
“Don’t Call Me” is one of six songs that appear on PRETTY COOL SCARS and Zach and Colton are excited to share this new music with their fans.

Kenny Chesney’s creative roll over the last few months defies conventional business wisdom, but it seems to be igniting a whole other spark in the songwriter-superstar from East Tennessee. After writing, recording and releasing “Noise” in a matter of 11 days – and delaying the follow-up to his acclaimed The Big Revival until October 28 to accommodate “Setting the World On Fire,” featuring pop superstar P!NK – the 8-time Entertainer of the Year went on Good Morning America and surprised hosts Ginger Zee and Jesse Palmer with a brand new title for his forthcoming album: Cosmic Hallelujah.
