New & Noteworthy: The Reverse Cowgirls

No pictures, no video, but that’s coming soon from them! Brand new country duo, The Reverse Cowgirls, comprised of Andrea Young, who has played with such artist as Jana Kramer, and Trista Mabry are a high-octane mix of a little classic rock with a whole lot of country.  They debuted as a duo this past week at the Whiskey Jam to a room full of adoring friends and fans.  In fact, the room got even MORE crowded as they were taking the stage.

They are ANOTHER one to watch! Great energy, great music and propelled by some damn fine fiddle playing by Andrea!

Big Machine Records To Release Soundtrack For ABC’s Hit Drama “Nashville” On Dec. 11

Featuring Hayden Panettiere’s Top 40-and-Rising Debut Single, “Telescope”

Nashville Cover ArtBig Machine Records will release the soundtrack for ABC Television’s new hit drama “Nashville” on December 11. The project features new music from the cast – Connie Britton, Hayden Panettiere, Charles Esten, Jonathan Jackson, Clare Bowen and Sam Palladio – who perform in each episode. Over 500,000 digital downloads from the breakout series have been sold to date.

In conjunction with the label’s exclusive music partnership with ABC Studios, Big Machine Records released the first official single, “Telescope,” to Country radio a mere three weeks ago. Sung by Hayden Panettiere (aka Juliette Barnes), the debut single is already Top 40-and-rising and has contributed nearly 50,000 to the total sales. George Jones Grand TourOutback Concerts in association with Country Music Hall of Fame member George Jones announce the final Nashville show as part of The Grand Tour to be held at Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, TN on Friday, November 22, 2013.

Special guest Tanya Tucker will be on hand for the Nashville concert amongst other friends of The Possum, yet to be announced.

“The Grand Tour will have surprises throughout the shows – you never know who may show up!  The Possum has lots of friends so it is going to be the most exciting thing to see who shows up during the final show. You should come too – and we can be surprised together!” said Jones.

Legendary guitarist, songwriter, producer and Rock and Roll Hall of Famer Steve Cropper joined Phil Vassar and his band for a little pre-game Blues and Rock on the Tennessee Titans Party Stage at LP Field in Nashville yesterday. Fans were treated to his iconic songs like “(Sittin’ On) The Dock of the Bay,” “Knock On Wood,” “In The Midnight Hour” and more.

CMA Awards Backstage – Martin Guitar Artist Welcome Lounge

The day before the 46th Annual CMA Music Awards, we had the wonderful opportunity to go behind the scenes at the brand new Martin Guitar Artist Welcome Lounge! We enjoyed the splendors of Martin chic and an exclusive look at backstage. We also had the opportunity to interview Steve Storm from  C. F. Martin & Co. and speak with him about how this new tradition came about.

The lounge will be a comfortable, chic haven for all participating artists to relax, mingle with their peers, and best of all, play the beautiful Martin guitars available in the lounge during rehearsals, the red carpet and the night of the awards show. 2012 Boulevard Bolt Celebrates 19th Anniversary Helping Nashville’s Homeless

The 2012 Boulevard Bolt is celebrating its 19th anniversary of raising funds to benefit the homeless with a 5-mile run/walk on Thanksgiving Day, November 22, 2012 at 8:00 a.m. The course runs along Belle Meade Boulevard, with the start and finish taking place at St. George’s Episcopal Church (4715 Harding Rd., Nashville 37205).

In 2011, approximately 8,500 adults and children registered for the annual fundraiser and since the Boulevard Bolt began its charity event in 1994, more than $2 million has been distributed among dozens of local agencies that serve the homeless.
