Big Machine Label Group (BMLG) President/CEO Scott Borchetta and Prescription Songs Lukasz “Dr. Luke” Gottwald have created a music publishing joint venture between Nashville-based Big Machine Music and Los Angeles-based Prescription Songs. The partnership will allow the two companies to co-publish songwriters and artists whose unique talents translate across genres. The announcement was fittingly made at the eighth annual ASCAP “I Create Music” EXPO in Hollywood, CA.
Both companies already have well-established, deep-rooted networks within Country and Pop, respectively, and the union will add to their talented rosters of songwriters and allow for extended collaborations.
The first writer signed to the publishing joint venture is 18-year-old artist RaeLynn, who was a contestant on Season 2 of NBC’s “The Voice.” The Baytown, TX, native is currently writing music for her forthcoming debut Country album.
