Michael Ray Celebrates ACM Nomination, First Week Of “Nineteen Tour”

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – 2019 has virtually just begun, and Michael Ray is already calling it his “best year ever”…and for good reason. The Florida native is nominated for New Male Artist of the Year at the 2019 ACM Awards, which will be broadcast on CBS live from MGM Grand’s Garden Arena in Las Vegas on Sunday, April 7 at 8:00PM ET/7:00PM CT.

“It’s gonna take a second for this to sink in,” Ray admitted shortly after the nominations were announced. “I grew up watching the ACM Awards year after year. I took notes in a notebook and kept track of the nominations and winners.”

To celebrate this latest career milestone, Ray set off on his much-anticipated Nineteen Tour on Feb. 21 in Washington, D.C., taking the devoted crowd through a journey of his career thus far through hits like “Kiss You in the Morning,” “Think a Little Less,” “Get To You” and the addictive chart-rising smash “One That Got Away.”

“I’m making it a point this year to slow down a little and soak in as many moments as possible and live in them,” Ray told fans last weekend. “Y’all singing every word to my songs is one I wish I could bottle up.”

Of course, 2019 looks to have many more such moments in store for the fan-favorite. Set to continue the Nineteen Tour in his adopted hometown of Chicago today, Feb. 28, Ray will make show stops in Indiana and Ohio before heading overseas for the first time to play C2C: Country to Country Festival 2019 upon the coveted Spotlight stage on March 8.

Old Dominion Play Bucket List Historic Ryman Auditorium Charity Show For “An Evening With Friends”

Tuesday night, acclaimed country band Old Dominion sold out and electrified the historic Ryman Auditorium in Nashville for their special headline show: “An Evening With Friends.” The gig raised a total of $40K for charity, with half of the proceeds benefitting the Opry Trust Fund  and the other half benefitting the Ryan Seacrest Foundation.
Old Dominion front man and 2017 ASCAP Artist Writer of the Year Matthew Ramsey said, “What an unforgettable night.  The Nashville community has given so much to us. Our lives have changed in ways we could never have imagined – so we felt like this show at the Ryman was a great way to start giving back. There was so much love and music and history swirling around. We are beyond proud to be able to raise money and help those who need it – along with help from our friends!”

Warner Music Nashville Is PICKIN’ FOR A PURPOSE On May 31 With Michael Ray

There’s no better time than summer to spread a little sunshine: Warner Music Nashville will kick off its 9th annual concert series with a Pickin’ for a Purpose event on May 31 featuring Michael Ray and benefiting Wrigley Cares.
Wrigley Cares, named for Ray’s husky/shepherd mix, is a charitable initiative that provides financial and medical support for rescue animals, service pets and more. Over the span of his headlining “Get To You” Tour, Ray has collected more than 100k meals for shelter animals. Guests of all ages are invited to the Pickin’ season launch and are encouraged to bring dog food and supply donations (see wish list here). In the spirit of the event, puppies will be available for adoption and attendees are welcome to bring their own furry friends to join in the fun.
In addition to his rescue efforts and duties as a dog dad, the Atlantic Records / Warner Music Nashville recording artist is preparing to launch his sophomore album Amos the day after Pickin’ for a Purpose, June 1. The record, which features his Top 15 and climbing single “Get To You,” takes its name from Ray’s grandfather, who inspired his passion for music. Proceeds from albums sold onsite will also benefit Wrigley Cares.
To accommodate the extra features of the special event, Pickin’ will take over the Warner Bros. Studio parking lot at 21 Music Square East. Doors will open at 5:00 p.m. and the show begins at 6:00. Pickin’ for a Purpose is presented by Jägermeister and supported by Dr. Pepper, Lyft, Pop Chips and Topo Chico. Keep an eye out for additional dates of the series to be announced monthly through September.
