Little Big Town | “Day Drinking”
Watch the live performance video of “Day Drinking” from the CMT Music Awards HERE!
Everybody’s always waitin’ on Friday
Watching that clock and sip on joe
Whatchya say we find a little warm sunshine
And open up an umbrella on the patio
I don’t need a reason to go to happy hour
And hang around for a fireworks show
Get a head start a little sip of somethin’
1, 2, 3 here we go
Don’t want to wait til the sun’s sinking
We could be feeling all right
I know you know what I’m thinking
why don’t we do a little day drinking
Why don’t we do a little day drinking
Blame it on the work day
Blame it on the heatwave
Blame it on the tick-tock moving too slow
Blame it on any old thing you want to
Baby get set baby here we go
Don’t want to wait til the sun’s sinking
We could be feeling all right
I know you know what I’m thinking
why don’t we do a little day drinking
Why don’t we do a little day drinking
Don’t want to wait til the sun’s sinking
We could be feeling all right
I know you know what I’m thinking
why don’t we do a little day drinking
Don’t want to wait til the sun’s sinking
We could be feeling all right
I know you know what I’m thinking
why don’t we do a little day drinking
Why don’t we do a little day drinking
Why don’t we do a little day drinking
Little Big Town “Perseverance” Panel Added To CRS 2014 Agenda
2013 CMA Vocal Group of the Year, Little Big Town, will present a panel about perseverance in the country music industry at CRS 2014. Bob Kingsley will conduct an interview with the band throughout the session, which will take place Feb.19 in the Nashville Convention Center.
Little Big Town embodies the definition of perseverance, with their “steadfastness in doing something despite difficulty or delay in achieving success.” During the panel, they will share stories about their perseverance as a band, which eventually landed them a #1 album, 2 #1 singles, a Grammy Award and ACM/CMA Vocal Group of the Year.
Throughout their career, the group, made up of members Karen Fairchild, Kimberly Schlapman, Jimi Westbrook, and Phillip Sweet, have stuck together through several challenging label changes. They received their first record deal with Mercury Nashville Records before moving to Sony’s Monument Records, where they released their debut album. From there, the band went from the small independent label, Equity Music Group, to their current label, Capitol Records, which was later taken over by major label, Universal Music Group.
“It’s an honor to be asked to be a part of CRS this year and especially the chance to share some of our story as a band through the last 14 years,” said Little Big Town. “It’s definitely been about perseverance for us.”
“Throughout every challenge the band has had, they’ve continued to establish and develop so many relationships and give back in so many ways,” said Bob Kingsley. “Their ability to adapt to situations and stay ahead is a hard feat, and one that we can all learn from.”
CRS 2014 will include more than 20 educational panels and industry-leading speakers, including “Cracking the Code: Using Data to Discover the Hits,” “Spotify, Pandora, YouTube, Beats: It’s Their Country, Too,” “Marketing On A Shoestring Budget,” “Would You Like Sales Prospects to Call You?” and more.
Other CRS 2014 agenda highlights include two major research presentations (sponsored by CMA and CRS), three label luncheons and performances, Acoustic Alley (sponsored by Bob Kingsley), the CRS keynote address, the popular New Faces of Country Music Dinner and Performance (co-sponsored by MDA and ACM) and much more.
CRS 2014 will be held Feb. 19-21, 2014 in downtown Nashville, Tenn. at the Nashville Convention Center. The $499 regular registration rate is still available and can be purchased at www.CountryRadioSeminar.com.

CMA Music Festival | Little Big Town To Host Summer’s Biggest Concert Event
Reigning CMA Vocal Group of the Year Little Big Town will host the summer’s hottest television music event when the ABC Television Network airs “CMA Music Festival: Country’s Night to Rock” on Monday, Aug. 12 (8:00-11:00 PM/ET).
“It’s an incredible honor to be hosting this year’s CMA Fest,” said Karen Fairchild of Little Big Town. “We could not be more excited about the party that’s going to break out at LP Field every night!”
Little Big Town members Fairchild, Phillip Sweet, Kimberly Schlapman, and Jimi Westbrook first entered the music scene more than 13 years ago with hits such as “Boondocks,” “Bring It On Home,” “Good As Gone,” and the Grammy-nominated single “Little White Church.” The quartet’s fifth studio album Tornado was released on Sept. 11, 2012 and debuted at the top of the Billboard Country Chart where it stayed in the No. 1 position for five consecutive weeks. The album, which is certified Gold, was produced by Jay Joyce and includes the double-Platinum-selling, No. 1 hit single “Pontoon” and the follow up single and title track “Tornado,” which also reached No. 1. Their current single, the emotionally-charged “Your Side of the Bed,” is at radio now and quickly climbing the charts.
Little Big Town Raises $115K for Africa
Blood:Water Mission hosts intimate house concert in Nashville
Grammy award-winning Little Big Town recently took the stage at Rolling Hills Farm in Franklin, TN in an effort to raise money for Blood:Water Mission, a local non-profit committed to empowering communities to work together against the HIV/AIDS and water crises in Africa.
This event is the second house concert that Little Big Town has performed for Blood:Water Mission, drawing an impressive crowd on both occasions. From government officials to sports superstars, support of Blood:Water Mission has crossed multiple societal thresholds. This year’s guest list included Governor and First Lady Haslam, Titans quarterback Jake Locker, author John Acuff, EPSN College Football analyst Kirk Herbstreit, and Rascal Flatts guitarist Joe Don Rooney with his wife Tiffany Fallon Rooney, to name a few.
Little Big Town Wraps Up Sold-Out Headlining Tornado Tour With Show In Charleston, SC
Little Big Town Scores Second Consecutive Number-One Single This Week
Little Big Town scored their second consecutive number-one single with “Tornado,” which tops this Mediabase country chart this week. This number-one follows up their first chart-topper, “Pontoon,” which scored a two-week number-one last fall.
The video, which stars actor Jonathan Schaech (That Thing You Do), is a favorite of the fans, but not necessarily the fam. “It’s scary, and I will have to say compared to ‘Pontoon’ – our children loved watching the ‘Pontoon’ video,” says LBT’s Karen Fairchild. “This one, the fans seem to love, but our kiddies don’t like to watch this one that much.” The “Tornado” clip is nominated for the ACM Video of the Year, and the band scored three other nominations including Vocal Group of the Year, Album of the Year and Single of the Year for “Pontoon.”
Little Big Town are headed to London to perform at the O2 Arena in London this week, but they’re set to continue their Tornado Tour when they return.
