Multi-faceted entertainer Kix Brooks is set to appear on this weekend’s edition of CBS Evening News tonight (11/21) at 5:30P CST, as well as CBS News Sunday Morning on Nov. 23 at 8:00A CST. As part of their “On The Road” feature, award-winning correspondent Steve Hartman sits down with Brooks to discuss trends in Country Music as well as highlight his role as host of the internationally syndicated radio show American Country Countdown.

Acclaimed artist, radio personality, entrepreneur, and esteemed member of the CMA Board of Directors Kix Brooks was named the first recipient of the CMA Foundation Humanitarian Award. The Award will be presented at an event in January, 2015.
Rucker, Kramer, Rich Sign On For 12th Annual ‘Waiting For Wishes’
NFL Hall of Fame legend Richard Dent, Vikings’ Jared Allen, Green Bay’s A.J. Hawk, Titans new safety George Wilson, John Rich, Darius Rucker, Kix Brooks, Jana Kramer and Chip Esten, who plays Deacon on ABC’s hit show Nashville, have all signed on to participate in the 12th annual Kevin Carter’s “Waiting For Wishes.”
Hosted by former Titan (and now ESPNU Sports Analyst) Kevin Carter and Rascal Flatts’ Jay DeMarcus, the 12th Annual Kevin Carter’s “Waiting For Wishes” will be held April 2 at The Palm in Nashville. The event benefits The Kevin Carter Foundation and The Make-A-Wish Middle Tennessee. The event has raised over $1.4 million since its inception in 2002.
The event, sponsored by HCA TriStar, Grand Avenue and Nashville Lifestyles magazine, has also added an official After Party, “Jam with Jay DeMarcus and Friends,” at Honky Tonk Central for patrons and a few guests who are not able to attend the dinner. Country Greets New York City with “Nash Bash”
Several artists helped New York City welcome new country station Nash-FM 94.7 by way of a trio of NASH BASH concerts at the historic Roseland Ballroom.
On Monday, Kix Brooks, Blake Shelton, Randy Houser, Lonestar and Dustin Lynch performed for approximately 3,000 fans. On Tuesday evening, the lineup included Brooks, Lady Antebellum, Gary Allan, Justin Moore and Brantley Gilbert. Brooks, Sara Evans, Lee Brice, The Henningsens and Darius Rucker filled Wednesday evening’s performance roster.
The concerts weren’t exactly open to the public, either. Fans had to enter a radio contest via Nash-FM 94.7 to win admission to the show. Here, photos from the three nights as some of country music’s brightest stars lit up New York City.
