JORDAN DAVIS EARNS MULTI-WEEK #1 WITH SIXTH CAREER CHART-TOPPING HIT, “NEXT THING YOU KNOW”

The Multi-Platinum Hit Is the Third-Consecutive Multi-Week Chart Topping Single Off CMA Award-Winning Artist’s Gold-Certified Album, Bluebird Days

“It’s not just the lyrics …it’s the way he summarizes life, love, family ….so anyone …can be excused for feeling a bit breathless by the time he finishes what we’re going to predict will be the 2023 CMA winner for Song of the Year.” – Taste of Country

NASHVILLE, TENN. (July 3, 2023) – Multi-platinum award-winning artist Jordan Davis continues to dominate the country scene with his sixth career #1 single and 3rd multi-week career #1 with “Next Thing You Know” on the Mediabase/Country Aircheck chart. Written by Davis with Greylan James, Chase McGill and Josh Osborne, “Next Thing You Know” earns Davis a second week at #1 and his third consecutive multi-week #1 off of his GOLD-certified sophomore album, Bluebird Days.  His previous two singles from Bluebird Days – “What My World Spins Around” and “Buy Dirt” ft. Luke Bryan – were 3-week and 2-week #1s, respectively. The full 17-track album, Bluebird Days, is available here.

Released in February 2023, Bluebird Days earned rave reviews and continues to resonate with industry and fans. Featured by The Tennessean, American Songwriter, and more, Bluebird Days earned critical acclaim with Billboard noting “Davis soars on ‘Bluebird Days’” and Entertainment Focus echoing, “Jordan Davis comes of age on new album ‘Bluebird Days’ and shows the world the type of mature, meaningful and melodic songwriter he is.”

Davis is one of only 5 artists to spend multiple weeks at #1 on the Mediabase/Country Aircheck radio charts in 2023 and earns his fastest rising single to date with “Next Thing You Know.” “Next Thing You Know” follows Davis’ Platinum-selling multi-week #1 “What My World Spins Around” as well as his 2022 CMA Song of the Year winning hit, the 2X Platinum Multi-week #1 single “Buy Dirt” (feat. Luke Bryan).

“…extraordinary consistency at the pinnacle of country music’s mainstream.” – The Tennessean

“Next Thing You Know” Lyrics:

Swear that you’re staying single next thing you know

You meet a girl at a bar and next thing you know

You get her laughin’, its two a.m.

You’re tellin your buddies three months in

That she ain’t moving in but next thing you know

There’s a Uhaul trailer next thing you know

Your old apartment is y’all’s new place

There goes the carpet but the deer head stays

Next thing you know saving money like never before

Just to spend it all at a jewelry store

Getting down on one knee on her momma’s porch Just pray she don’t say no

Next thing you know your best man gives a half drunk speech

And your sunburn on a honeymoon beach

And your left hand is getting used to that ring

There the next two or three years ago

Next thing you know

Weren’t really trying next thing you know

There’s a test on the counter next thing you know

She’s standing there crying nodding her head yes

Your half excited half scared to death

Cause next thing you know

You’re wearing scrubs and a funny white hat

And the doctor’s sayin how you doing there dad and

Nobody’s ever called you that

And you take the drive home slow

Next thing you know its first steps, first date, first car

Its 11:01 wondering where they are

You sayin’ that USC’s too far

Its amazing how fast seventeen years go

Next thing you know, Next thing you know

Next thing you know you get to know your wife again

And you’re more in love than you’ve ever been

With a lot of years of remember whens and still some down the road

‘Cause next thing you know you got a yard full of your kids’ kids

And you take them to church, teach em to fish and ya

Tell them stories every chance you get

‘Bout how fast this life down here can go

Next thing you know, Next thing you know

The Listening Room, The Big 98 And 103-3 Country Present: Jameson Rodgerd & Friends Slated For April 23

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Columbia Nashville/River House Artists breakout singer-songwriter Jameson Rodgers will host two special performances benefitting the Music Venue Alliance-Nashville on April 23 at The Listening Room in Nashville. Local radio stations THE BIG 98 and 103-3 Country will present performances at 6:00 p.m. CT and 8:30 p.m. CT, respectively. Guests include Carly Pearce, Jimmie Allen, Jordan Davis, and Tenille Townes.

“This last year has been extremely difficult for all kinds of businesses and individuals, but independent music venues have possibly suffered the most,” said Rodgers. “I played one of the last shows at Kanza Hall in Kansas City in February 2020 before it permanently closed due to the pandemic. Douglas Corner, where I played for the first time ever in Nashville, also closed last year. When I heard Exit/In may be going up for sale I knew I had to do something to help struggling independent music venues in Nashville. We came across MVAN and knew that was the perfect partner to get funds into venues’ hands. I’ve spent years touring in clubs and I wouldn’t be where I am today without them. We can’t let all these venues close and suffer. I’m really grateful to The Listening Room, THE BIG 98 and 103-3 Country for presenting, hosting and donating the proceeds from this show. A big shout out to my fellow artist friends for donating their time to raise funds for these clubs that are important to each of us.”

Tickets are available now at ListeningRoomCafe.com for both shows (Pearce will appear at 6:00 p.m. performance only). One hundred percent of ticket proceeds will benefit Music Venue Alliance-Nashville, a coalition working to ensure no Nashville independent music venue closes its doors permanently due to COVID-19.

“We are excited to join forces with THE BIG 98, 103-3 Country and these artists to raise money for such a worthy cause,” said Chris Blair, owner and operator of The Listening Room, which is a member of MVAN. “Nashville’s independent music venues are a crucial piece of the city’s history and music landscape. MVAN needs the community’s support to keep local venues and independent music alive in Nashville.”

The announcement comes on the heels of Rodgers’ recent AIMP-Nashville nomination for Rising Artist-Writer of the Year, where his Gold-certified, No. 1 debut single “Some Girls” is also nominated for Song of the Year. “Some Girls” was the first of only two solo male debut singles to reach the top of the charts in 2020.

Meanwhile, his latest Top 40 single, “Cold Beer Calling My Name” featuring Luke Combs, continues its rise at country radio and has notched more than 27 million on-demand streams. The “feel good party song” (Billboard) has been celebrated as “just what you need to crack open a good time” (Sounds Like Nashville) and “blue-collar magic” (NY Country Swag). Country Now praised the single as one of the 11 Best Country Songs of Summer 2020, and Rolling Stone echoed “it’s the escapist chaser that many of us can use these days.”

Rodgers ended the year in the Top 5 of Billboard’s Top New Country Artist chart and has been tapped as an artist to watch in 2021 by The Boot, MusicRow, and more.

About Jameson Rodgers: Columbia Nashville/River House Artists singer and songwriter Jameson Rodgers continues to blaze his trail to stardom following his breakout, Gold-certified No. 1 debut hit “Some Girls.” The track helped earn Rodgers a Top 5 spot on Billboard’s 2020 Top New Country Artist chart, the 2020 MusicRow Discovery Artist of the Year Award and a spot in the outlet’s Next Big Thing Class of 2021. Rodgers’ new single “Cold Beer Calling My Name” features label mate Luke Combs and has been celebrated as one of the 11 Best Country Songs of Summer 2020 (Country Now) and praised by Rolling Stone as “the escapist chaser that many of us can use these days.” Initially making his mark on Music City as a behind-the-scenes songwriter, Rodgers has co-penned Platinum-selling hits for Florida Georgia Line (Top 10 single “Talk You Out of It”) and Chris Lane (No. 1 smash “I Don’t Know About You”), along with “Camouflage Hat” on Jason Aldean’s most recent album 9 and the title track of Luke Bryan’s latest release Born Here Live Here Die Here. Rodgers spent 2019 supporting Combs on the sold-out BEER NEVER BROKE MY HEART TOUR, playing more than 60 arenas and amphitheaters, and is currently working on his debut full-length album with producers Mickey Jack Cones, Chris Farren, and Jake Mitchell.

Jordan Davis Celebrates First #1 Song “Singles You Up” At Fat Bottom Brewery

Pictured (l-r): Songwriter Steven Dale Jones, songwriter-artist Jordan Davis and songwriter Justin Ebach. Photo: Peyton Hoge

As “Singles You Up” (written with Steven Dale Jones and Justin Ebach) currently garners 200,000,000 streams, it is the most played song by a male artist on country radio in 2018 thus far and gains such quick momentum for a debut release, Jordan Davis is proving that he is one to watch with the success of his first UMG/MCA released project “Home State”, produced by Paul DiGiovanni.

The Louisiana native moved to Nashville with the hopes of being a songwriter, not necessarily wanting to be in the spotlight as an artist. Davis paid his dues, working as a bartender while building his catalog and seeking a publishing deal, ultimately securing a recording contract with Universal Music Group in 2016.
Davis continues to tour this summer extensively into the fall with Jake Owen and Chris Janson. When asked what he has gained through the experience, his response was: “I am always learning and standing on the side of the stage watching and taking notes, looking to see how I can make my live show better”.

Focus On The 615 asked Davis who his dream collaboration would be with, especially having the leverage of a #1 song on the charts. His answer was quick and confident:

“John Prine. I respect him so much! I came to Nashville as a songwriter first. John Prine is a storyteller and his career is one that I respect to the core”.

With Jordan Davis continuing to make his mark as an artist and songwriter, his goal to work with John Prine could possibly become a reality. That balance of authenticity and catering to country radio is one that Davis seems to easily combine. A combination destined for longevity in a constantly changing music climate.
