The Warner Sound During CMA Fest: High Valley And William Michael Morgan

I had the pleasure of attending two fan club parties as part of The Warner Sound last week from Warner Music Nashville’s roster:  High Valley and William Michael Morgan.

For the past few years, Warner Music Nashville has presented a full schedule of activities with their artists at an off-site location near the CMA Fest and now for the last two years at their office on Music Row.

I thoroughly-enjoyed going out to their office for a couple of days to enjoy High Valley and William Michael Morgan’s fan club parties.  It was a welcome reprieve from the massive crowd, far away parking, and the hot, humid temperatures outside at CMA Fest during that time.

The fan club parties were set out on their patio on the second floor with a large tent cooled with air-conditioning.   The tent held a nice-sized stage, lighting, and nicely-decorated for each fan club party.

On Thursday, High Valley performed 5 songs with a full band and entertained their fans with their bluegrass-infused sound blended with contemporary country and family harmonies from the two brothers.  Their songs are infectious and always bring such great energy to the stage that was fully-appreciated by their fans.  Prior to the show, fans were treated to pulled pork barbecue or grilled chicken, tossed salad, chips, chocolate chip cookie, and assortment of soda or bottled water to drink from Texas Roadhouse.

On Sunday, William Michael Morgan performed 5 songs acoustically playing guitar himself with another person playing guitar with him and singing harmony.  Morgan demonstrated his smooth, baritone vocals on his more traditional country songs to a enthusiastic crowd and paid homage to one of his favorites singing a cover from Tim McGraw.   Fans were able to enjoy a lunch of beef skewers, tossed salad, chocolate chip cookie, and assortment of soda or bottled water to drink from Texas Roadhouse.

After each performance, they held a meet and greet to meet with their fans who attended and take photos.

As an added treat inside the Warner Music Nashville office during the 4 days of CMA Fest, there was a special pop-up Waffle House in the lobby complete with booths preparing waffles and hashbrowns for free to guests.  Fans could also enjoy a cocktail from George Dickel Whisky outside on a deck there, I especially liked the frozen rose and frozen lemonade whisky cocktail they served, and Crown Royal hosted a lounge where they served some specialty drinks like a Coke and Vanilla Crown Royal cocktail.

All were there as sponsors of The Warner Sound and really created a nice, relaxing atmosphere that I could have easily stuck around to enjoy all day.

Thanks for allowing me to enjoy The Warner sound! Always a treat and highly-recommend buying tickets for next year to get up close and personal with many of Warner Music Nashville’s artists.  It’s such an enjoyable escape from the crowds and heat downtown.  They change it up each year, so you never know exactly what it will be, but it will always be nice no matter what.

High Valley Headlines Sirius XM’s THE HIGHWAY FINDS TOUR

We had the pleasure this past week to catch a rehearsal of High Valley as they prepared to set out on their first ever headlining tour with Sirius XM’s THE HIGHWAY FINDS TOUR that began on October 18th.

High Valley rehearsing at S.I.R.

With just a small sampling of what to expect from the tour that I got to hear at the rehearsal, this is going to be a great tour that you don’t want to miss. High Valley is very comfortable on stage and have a great presense that is hard to not enjoy.  They’ll have you clapping along in no time.  Skilled musicians and talented singers, you don’t want to miss them if they come to a city near you. You’ll hear their original music along with the occassional classic country & bluegrass tunes from some of their musicial influences.

The 20-date North American tour will be stopping in Nashville at Mercy Lounge on October 27th headlined by the talented duo along with supporting acts/tourmates, Ashley McBryde and Adam Doleac.

High Valley is comprised of brothers, Brad and Curtis Rempel, from Blumenort, Alberta, Canada. Signed to Atlantic Records, the Canadian country duo is known for their contemporary country sound with a bit of bluegrass mixed in and strong harmonies. Their use of instruments like mandolin, banjo, and steel guitar in their music is not as common in today’s country music as it was in the past; setting them apart from many others in the genre to create their signature sound. They are heavily-influenced by the bluegrass sound, since its the genre of music they grew up on and listened to regularly.

Their current single, “She’s With Me”, is currently top 20 and rising on the country charts from their most recent album, DEAR LIFE, released November 2016.

Their most recent album remains one of my favorites nearly a year after its release, and I queue it up regularly to listen to from my phone. My personal favorites off the release are the current single, “She’s With Me”, “Make You Mine”, and “Young Forever”;all uptempo tracks. Find it at iTunes and Google Play today, and support this great duo.

Don’t forget to catch them in Nashville on October 27th, if not already sold out! Tickets for all stops of the tour can be purchased at: www.ticketmaster.com
