Tonight, ACM Lifting Lives®, the Academy of Country Music’s® philanthropic arm, celebrated its first-ever fundraising gala, hosted by country music luminaries Garth Brooks and Trisha Yearwood, at the Omni Dallas Hotel. The gala, co-hosted by Nancy O’Dell and Montel Williams, kicked off the 50th ACM Awards weekend with a supersized line-up of performances beginning with Hunter Hayes, Little Big Town, The Band Perry, Lady Antebellum, Keith Urban, and closed with Garth Brooks andTrisha Yearwood.
ADVISORY: The ACM® Lifting Lives Benefit Gala℠ Presented by Mattress Firm, on Friday, April 17 will now take place exclusively at the Omni Dallas Hotel, and will no longer take place at two separate locations. Donors who have purchased tickets to the Fort Worth Zoo gala will be accommodated at the Omni Dallas Hotel.
The Academy of Country Music announced today that 2015 leading male ACM Award nominee Dierks Bentley will host the ACM Charity Motorcycle Ride & Concert on Saturday, April 18. The ride will begin at two dealerships including Strokers Dallas in Dallas, Texas and Longhorn Harley-Davidson in Grand Prairie, Texas with performances at each location. Riders will end their journey at Maverick Harley-Davidson in Carrollton, Texas with a concert featuring full throttle performances by country music’s top artists.
Music fans turned out in droves today when tickets became available for the largest celebration in country music history, SELLING OUT 70,000 TICKETS IN 18 MINUTES for BOTH the 50th ANNIVERSARY OF THE ACADEMY OF COUNTRY MUSIC AWARDS, Country Music’s Party of the Year® on April 19, 2015 from AT&T Stadium, the home of the Dallas Cowboys, AND forACM Party for a Cause®: 50 Years of Music & Memories on April 17-18, 2015 at Globe Life Park, home of the Texas Rangers, in Arlington, Texas. The events were the biggest—and fastest—selling in the Academy’s history.
“We want to thank the fans for their continued support. This sale was unprecedented and far exceeded our expectations,” said Bob Romeo, CEO of the Academy. “We’re working hard to plan more events to accommodate as many fans as we can. Country music is alive and well in North Texas!”
There may be tickets made available as staging for all ACM events becomes finalized and production kill seats open up to reveal more space in each venue – if that happens, the ACM A-List will be notified first. The 50th ACM Awards will be broadcast LIVE for the first time ever from AT&T Stadium in Arlington, TX on Sunday, April 19, 2015 at 8:00 PM live ET/delayed PT on the CBS Television Network. Four-time ACM Award winners Blake Shelton and Luke Bryan will return to co-host this super-sized night of incredible country music performances, which will cap off three days of events, including the3rd annual ACM Party for a Cause®: 50 Years of Music & Memories on April 17-18, 2015 at Globe Life Park, in Arlington, Texas. This two-day outdoor music event will include multiple stages for ongoing LIVE country music performances, interactive experiences, a family-friendly country marketplace with food trucks and vendors from around the country, and much more. All participating artists will be announced at a later date.
