Nashville Rising Song Series 4 Starts January 9, 2019 At Nashville Underground

Nashville Rising Song is excited to announce Series 4 of their popular songwriter open mic contest, NASHVILLE RISING SONG. Series 4 of NASHVILLE RISING SONG will be held at Nashville Underground at 105 Broadway, near the intersection of First and Broadway in downtown Nashville.

Open to all songwriters of any genre who write and perform their own songs, NASHVILLE RISING SONG is Music City’s premier songwriter open mic contest. Created and facilitated by Keith Mohr (mohrmusicproductions.com), NASHVILLE RISING SONG has a reputation as a top discovery vehicle for aspiring songwriters, music industry personnel and music fans.

The contest starts Wednesday, January 9 at 7:00PM, and will be held subsequent Wednesdays for a total of 12 weeks. Each of the ten preliminary rounds feature up to 21 songwriters who each perform one original song. At each preliminary round, the audience (at the venue and online) votes for their favorite songwriter/song, and a panel of music industry judges also select their favorite songwriter/song.

The semi-final round will be held on Wednesday, March 20, 2019 at 7:00PM, featuring 20 preliminary round winners. The audience (at the venue and online) selects one writer, and the music industry panel selects three additional writers to move on to the final round. At the final round, to be held on Wednesday March 27, 2019 at 7:00PM, the four finalists will perform four songs each. The grand prize winner, who will be selected by a combination of audience (at the venue and online) and music industry votes, will receive cash and other career advancing prizes provided by event prize partners.

The event is FREE to perform (unless a songwriter opts to purchase a limited guaranteed performance slot) and FREE to vote online, courtesy of event host, Nashville Underground and other event partners.

Also, new for this series is the addition of Shawn Carnes, CEO of Nashville Underground Management (http://www.nu.management) as event emcee. Shawn brings his vast experience in the music industry as well as his upbeat and dynamic personality to the Nashville Rising Song event and stage.

NASHVILLE RISING SONG creator/director Keith Mohr states, “We’re thrilled to have Nashville Underground host our fourth series of Nashville Rising Song. Joey and Gavin DeGraw are successful songwriters themselves and have built a fantastic music themed venue with an excellent stage and production.” And, having Shawn Carnes as our new emcee will spice up the event and make it quite the entertaining show! NASHVILLE RISING SONG is a great way to discover up and coming talent way before anyone else! This event is all about the song!”

Songwriters:
This songwriter open mic contest is open to anyone who writes original songs! You perform your song live on stage (must play an instrument, no performance tracks allowed). There are no auditions, simply register online or at the venue and share your song in front of people who want to hear your song. Win cash and prizes, make industry connections, forge songwriter friendships, and create new fans. Our audience is attentive because they vote for their favorite song! Our music industry leaders also listen closely and vote for their favorite song and provide feedback at the end of the event (if you want it).

Previous contestants have seen great success, including Colton Dixon, who signed with EMI and tours internationally. Brandon Calynn, who signed with Warner Music Group, and Dani Elliott toured with Miley Cyrus as a background vocalist on her BANGERZ Tour as a result of our direct connection. Cole Burkett, a finalist of NRS Series 2 was signed to Nashville Underground Management and recorded a few of his songs with Grammy Award winning producer, Kenneth “Babyface” Edmonds in Hollywood, CA.

So why sit at home wishing that you could get discovered, when you have the opportunity to be discovered at NASHVILLE RISING SONG? It all starts with you coming out and sharing your song!

Fans:
Be a part of the event! The audience at the venue and watching live online votes for their favorite song via an online poll, and gets to hear the hits before they hit! Make it a weekly fun night out listening to talented songwriters, and partake of the fantastic food, drink and vibe at Nashville Underground!

ABOUT LORI McKENNA
Home and the people who make it have captivated Lori McKenna for years. Over the last three decades, as she became a wife and mother of five, she has also emerged as one of the most respected, prolific singer-songwriters in popular music. Her 2016 release The Bird and the Rifle netted three Grammy nominations, along with Americana Music Association nods––all firsts for McKenna as an artist. Then, she made history: In 2016, she became the first woman ever to win the Country Music Association’s Song of the Year two years in a row thanks to co-writing Little Big Town’s “Girl Crush”and penning Tim McGraw’s no. 1 “Humble and Kind”solo. Both songs also clinched back-to-back Grammy wins for Best Country Song. In 2017, she became the Academy of Country Music’s first female Songwriter of the Year. The Tree is her much-anticipated eleventh studio album. Produced by Dave Cobb, The Tree takes one of McKenna’s signature themes––family––and builds a tapestry of experiences she has lived and overheard, been told and dreamed up, to create a stunning ode to life’s defining relationships.

Nashville’s Premier Event Planner Announces CMA After Party Sweepstakes

For country music fans, the CMA Awards (airing this year on Wednesday, November 8), are like a national holiday. Yet for all the fun to be had at the ceremony itself, there’s nothing like the private after parties—where the stars let loose and the music doesn’t stop until 2 am.

And this year, Nashville event planner Randi Lesnick is hosting a sweepstakes that will allow one winner and a guest to attend a CMA after party planned by Lesnick’s company, Randi Events.

“The CMAs are one of my favorite events during the year,” says Lesnick. “They’re normally closed to the public, so I’m excited to provide this opportunity for a very lucky country music fan.”

Since launching Randi Events more than 20 years ago, Lesnick has been the go-to planner for Nashville’s music industry, regularly organizing events for industry notables including Florida Georgia Line, Thomas Rhett, Tim McGraw, and many others.

For the 2017 CMA Awards, Randi Events is planning some after parties and the winner of a random draw will get to tag along with Randi as she stops by each of the events.

Fans can enter the competition by visiting http://www.randilesnick.com/cma-awards-contest/ and following submissions instructions. Entries are earned by following Randi Lesnick and/or Randi Events on social media, as well as by sharing the content post on Instagram or Facebook. Each completed task qualifies for one entry, giving fans up to eight shots at the highly coveted prize.

While the contest is open to country fans across the country, Randi Events will not pay for travel to or lodging in Nashville. Deadline for all entries is 11:59 pm PST.

About Randi Lesnick/Randi Events

Randi Lesnick took a leap of faith nearly 20 years ago when announcing to a former executive of Dreamworks Records that she was a party planner, when, in fact, she wasn’t. Through sheer will, Randi landed the contract to plan the grand opening party for Dreamworks Nashville, and since then, Randi Events been the go-to event planner for Nashville’s music industry. In addition to rubbing shoulders with Music City elite like Scott Borchetta and Reba McEntire, Randi also plans luxury weddings around the southeastern U.S. and is currently working on a book detailing her rise to entrepreneurial success as a wife and mom of two.
