Tyler Farr Added To Shine For Susie Benefit Concert Lineup With Tickets On Sale TODAY

Shining light on ALS and showing their support for Love and Theft’s Stephen Barker Liles and family, country music’s biggest stars come together for an acoustic filled evening at the Historic Ryman Auditorium on December 4, 2017 at 7:00 p.m. to benefit The ALS Association of Tennessee and the Burchett & Liles Family in their fight against ALS together.

Tyler Farr will also join friends and fellow artists Love and Theft, Florida Georgia Line, Jerrod Niemann, Craig Campbell, Canaan Smith, Trent Tomlinson, The Warren Brothers, and Stevie Monce for a night of hope and healing. The evening will be hosted by SiriusXM The Highway’s Storme Warren, Stephen Baker Liles from Love and Theft and Dee Jay Silver.
Concert tickets go on sale Friday, October 20, 2017 at 10 a.m. via Ticketmaster outlets, ticketmaster.com, the Ryman box office, www.ryman.com and by phone 800.745.3000. Tickets are $125, $75 and $55.
Shine for Susie ALS Benefit Concert was formed as a partnership between The ALS Association of Tennessee and the Burchett & Liles Family to raise funds in the fight against ALS. Susie Burchett, mother of Stephen Barker Liles from Love and Theft, was diagnosed with ALS in March of 2017.
Together, our efforts are helping to improve the daily lives of people living with ALS, including Susie’s.
“I’ve had the privilege of helping with many charities through the years, but when the cause touches your life, it changes everything,” said Stephen Barker Liles from Love and Theft. “When my mother was diagnosed with ALS, in March of this year, I was devastated. But I also felt called to make a difference to help her and others through my musical platform. I’m incredibly grateful for some of my dear friends who are joining me to shine light through our music and bring hope to millions.”
ALS is a progressive neurodegenerative disease that affects nerve cells in the brain and the spinal cord. Eventually, people with ALS lose the ability to initiate and control muscle movement, which often leads to total paralysis and death within two to five years of diagnosis. For unknown reasons, NFL players are four times as likely to develop ALS and veterans are twice as likely to develop ALS as the general population.
The simple fact is, ALS can strike anyone, anytime.
“There are so many important causes that merit our support,” said Burchett and Liles Family. “Often however, we don’t choose those causes…they choose us. For our family, having our mother, wife, grandmother diagnosed with ALS presented a galvanizing opportunity to support the needed cause of ALS. We hope this event will provide more awareness, funds for research, and financial support to all touched by this debilitating disease.”
For information on sponsorship packages or if you have any additional questions before you purchase, please contact Ashlee Moon at 615.331.5556 or send an email to ashlee.moon@alstn.org.
“We are thrilled to curate this first-of-its-kind unique concert experience for the Tennessee Chapter alongside the Burchett and Liles Family. The enthusiasm and willingness this family has brought to the table to secure some of the industry’s most talented artists to perform is truly amazing. They continue to work tirelessly with our team to create an unforgettable musical experience,” said Steve Wallace, CEO of The ALS Association of Tennessee.

“Our Chapter is truly grateful to have this important partnership and we are thankful to all the musical guests, who have graciously lent their time and talents to support the Association’s efforts in brightening the lives of ALS patients and families in our community,” said Wallace.

About The ALS Association Tennessee ChapterThe ALS Association is the only national non-profit organization fighting ALS on every front.  By leading the way in global research, providing assistance for people with ALS through a nationwide network of chapters, coordinating multidisciplinary care through certified clinical care centers, and fostering government partnerships, The Association builds hope and enhances quality of life while aggressively searching for new treatments and a cure. For more information about The ALS Association, visit our website at www.ALSTN.org.

About Shine for Susie ALS Charity Fund

Local Breast Cancer Survivors Take To The Runway For Maryland Farms YMCA’s Celebratory Fashion Show 2017 Heroes In Heels Fashion Show

THE VOICE — “Live Top 11” Pictured: Mary Sarah — (Photo by: Tyler Golden/NBC)

Finalist on NBC’s The Voice, country music artist Mary Sarah is sharing her time and talent to support breast cancer survivors finding strength and recovery after treatment through the YMCA’s After Breast Cancer program.

Mary Sarah will emcee the YMCA’s annual Heroes in Heels Fashion Show benefiting the Y’s Annual Giving Campaign, which makes programs like After Breast Cancer possible. It’s a cause that’s personal for Mary Sarah. She says, “I attended the show last year and was moved by the survivor models’ grace and resilience in the aftermath of this life-threatening disease.

Many had young children escorting them, some were still bald from chemotherapy treatments, but all were radiant with joy! It was humbling to meet them, and I’m thrilled to be a part of such an inspirational cause.”

One program participant summed up her experience by saying, “Treatment took a toll on my body and soul, but in ABC I found healing in my group of other survivors who all felt the same way. We became like family… in some ways our group was better than family… and we got stronger physically and healed emotionally. I didn’t realize just how much I needed it until I went through it.”

On Tuesday, October 24, more than 25 survivors will model the latest fall fashions from Dillard’s Green Hills. Maryland Farms YMCA Executive Director Jodi Schroer says, “As the daughter of a 5-year breast cancer survivor it brings me great pride to be able to serve the breast cancer community through our YMCA and the After Breast Cancer Program.  I know all too well the fear and uncertainty that the entire family experiences after a cancer diagnosis.  It’s programs like ours and events like Heroes in Heels that restore the strength, perseverance, beauty and joy that every survivor deserves.”

About the program

Nearly one in eight of our neighbors will face a breast cancer diagnosis in their lifetime. Earlier detection and improved therapies have increased survival rates, but post-treatment support can still be a challenge for many women. With the Y’s After Breast Cancer (ABC) program, local survivors get the specialized wellness guidance they need on their road to recovery. Many of them will take to the runway to celebrate survival at the upcoming fashion show.

The program has been offered at the Maryland Farms YMCA for 8 years and in that time more than 1,000 women in Williamson and Davidson counties have taken part. In 2016, 57 women in 9 groups went through the program; in 2017 the program has served 55 survivors to date with more scheduled for the remainder of the year. The program is also offered at the Bellevue, Clarksville, Green Hills, Margaret Maddox, Robertson County and Sumner County YMCAs and in the Murfreesboro area in partnership with the Murfreesboro Recreation Department.

Aaron Watson Hosts “A Night Of Texas” Benefit Concert Tonight At Ryman

Amidst a string of sold out shows nationwide, Aaron Watson is preparing for his October 4 headlining date at Music City’s iconic Ryman Auditorium. Opening for this date will be fellow acts all from the great state of Texas including Jon Wolfe, Mickey Guyton, Jim Collins and Leslie Satcher, to present “A Night of Texas Music” benefitting American Red Cross Hurricane Harvey response efforts. Tickets start at only $25 and can be purchased HERE.  Proceeds from the show will be donated to the Red Cross.

It’s been nearly five weeks since Hurricane Harvey devastated parts of Texas and Louisiana, and the Red Cross continues to provide shelter, food, relief supplies and more to people in need. Red Cross response vehicles and volunteers are fanning out across neighborhoods to distribute nutritious meals and relief supplies, such as diapers, bug spray, cleaning supplies, coolers, and comfort kits that contain deodorant, toothbrushes, toothpaste and other hygiene items. Red Cross disaster workers are also providing health services such as replacing lost medications and eyeglasses, emotional support and spiritual care to people affected by this devastating storm.

Aaron Watson Photo credit: Joseph Llanes

The date adds to a hugely successful 2016-2017, with headlining ticket counts nearing the half million mark and 100+ sellout shows covering 40 states and 8 countries.

“It is such an honor to headline the iconic Ryman stage, and having the opportunity to turn this into a benefit for all of the folks in Southeast Texas who really need our help is going to make it an extra special night,” says Watson. “Really grateful for the chance to give back.”

Watson’s lead single “Outta Style” from the critically acclaimed album Vaquero, which debuted earlier this year at No. 2 on the Billboard Top Country Albums chart and No. 1 on Billboard’s all genre Indie Albums chart, is currently sitting in the 20’s on both charts. Aaron continues to undeniably impact the country music scene, building an incredible 18-year career, marking his highest charting single to date and arguably the greatest underdog story in country music since Zac Brown Band’s “Chicken Fried” nearly a decade ago.

Randy Houser & Friends Shine At The Annual Grover Benefit Concert

The Grove Manor

Just outside of Franklin, sits the beautiful gated community called The Grove in College Grove, Tennessee.  This was the site of the annual Grover Benefit Concert last Sunday night, September 24th, at the Grove Manor.

Many residents from this gorgeous residential community attended along with supporters of the charity on the balmy fall evening to enjoy heavy hors d’oeuvres, drinks, and the concert while participating in the silent action that included an autographed guitar from Carrie Underwood, signed Mike Fisher hockey stick, signed Vince Gill lyrics, and much more.  All net proceeds raised were donated to Agape Animal Rescue, Williamson County Animal Center, and The First Tee.

The concert took place outside on the lawn of the Grove Manor in front of the pond among soft candlelight sprinkling the beautifully-manicured grounds close to the tastefully-decorated stage that had been set up for the event.  Beginning with a great acoustic set by hit songwriters, Neil Thrasher and Kelley Lovelace, featuring some of their hits made famous by Jason Aldean, Rascal Flatts, and Randy Houser.  Followed by a fantastic full band performance by Randy Houser, whose vocals are strong as ever and he interacted comfortably with the crowd throughout his set.  Following his performance Steve Cropper, Lee Brice, and Jamey Johnston joined the fun by closing out the night to the delight of the crowd.

Such a wonderful and successful evening for a good cause! We appreciate being invited to enjoy this incredible annual event that was followed the next day by a golf tournament to raise funds for Agape Animal Rescue.

Back of Grove Manor

About Agape Animal Rescue

At Agape, we have seen it all when it comes to man’s best friend.  But despite the misfortunes these animals have endured, our commitment to them remains steadfastly clear: to provide loving, emotionally stable, nurturing foster care for them while they wait for their forever homes, for their forever families.

Through no fault of their own, our dogs found themselves in homeless situations. We are dedicated to making a positive difference in these dogs’ lives from the moment they enter our foster program.  Our goal is to help these animals in every way we can…emotionally, socially, physically…so that the transition onto their forever homes will be as smooth as possible. We strive to teach our dogs basic obedience skills, including proper leash manners and friendly house manners. And we strive to match our dogs with the best family possible, working through as many applications as necessary to find a home that offers the dog the most fulfilling, enriched life.

On behalf of all the dogs waiting for a forever family, we thank you for your interest in improving the lives of these deserving animals.
