A VINTAGE AFFAIR HOSTS 14TH ANNUAL ‘A VINTAGE AFFAIR’ SERIES OF WINE EVENTS

A Vintage Affair’s annual, three-day series of wine events returns this April for its fourteenth year in Williamson County. The popular fund-raising sequence is one of many ways the Franklin-based non-profit supports local charities and programs.

On Wednesday, April 23rd, Sperry’s Restaurant in Cool Springs will be the setting for a 5 course wine maker dinner called “A Vintner Dinner.” Each course will be served with a specially paired wine and a chance to hear from the wine maker. This is a VIP dinner for AVA’s top sponsors. However, there are very limited tickets available for individual guests who wish to join this very special evening.  Individual tickets are $200 per guest.

On Thursday, April 24, AVA patrons will gather at Green’s Grocery in Historic Leiper’s Fork for “A Vintage Affair goes Country” formerly known as “Vintage Champagne and Vintage Country Music.”  This boots and blue jeans event has been a continual favorite among AVA patrons, and guests will tastefine champagne and wine provided by Harvest Beverage Company and Moon Wine and Spirits and cold beer in an old Tennessee atmosphere. Entertainment will be provided by Tayla Lynn, Victor House Recording Artist and granddaughter of Loretta Lynn.  BBQ will be provided by Mickey Roo’s.  Tickets are $75 per person.

The next night (April 25th) patrons will gather outside Jamison Hall at The Factory at Franklin from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. for the “Meet The Vintner Preview Party,” sponsored by First Tennessee Bank.  The event will feature fine cigars from BellaTerra Ranch Cigars and special wine tastings from the following wine makers:  Dan Cederquist of Cederquist Wine Company, Francisco Robledo of Robledo Family Winery, Kip Summers of Arrington Vineyards, and Pablo Nyarady of Trifecta Winery.  There will also be champagne and fabulous hors d’oeuvres.  Tickets are $125 per person.  This price includes your reservation to the “Main Event.”  Reservations may be purchased online at www.avintageaffair.org.

Immediately following the Preview Party, doors will open for the “A Vintage Affair Main Event,” the event to round off the three-day festivities. A Vintage Affair

I recently attended A Vintage Affair at The Factory in Franklin on Friday, April 19th sponsored by First Tennessee Bank.  What a great event and turnout! Hundreds of items to bid on in the silent and live auction, great food from area restaurants and great wine to taste.   It was a wonderful and elegant event! Be sure to be on the lookout for this event next year.  You don’t want to miss it, and it’s all for a good cause!

A Vintage Affair is a non profit 501(c)3 organization that is dedicated to raising money for Williamson County charities benefiting women and children in need. In order to fulfill the goal of helping out neighbors in need, AVA hosts various events throughout the year which include: wine, spirit & food tastings, A Fashion Affair – our fashion show, and The Grape Stomp at Animalia. Since its inception in 2001, AVA has contributed over one million dollars to local non profit organizations. Each year AVA chooses several deserving beneficiaries from the community to receive the proceeds for that fiscal year.

The Grape Stomp: Stompin’ It Out In Franklin

Grape stomping team “I Kissed A Grape And I Liked It”

The Grape Stomp has to be one of my favorite events to be part of this year.  Seriously, who doesn’t like to attend an outdoor wine festival on a beautiful autumn day enjoying some great music for a good cause?

This fun event started with a fun grape stomping competition by teams that each dressed in costumes.  My personal favorite was the grape stomping team of “I Kissed A Grape And I Liked It” — featuring, you guessed it, almost Russell Brand with 4 almost Katy Perry’s! The grape stomping winning team was the “Zin-ful Pleasures” who are a group of Recovery Room nurses from Williamson Medical Center.
