“ON STAGE” WITH DAMIEN HORNE AND FATCAT

Wednesday nights are full of great music, good food and a lot of fun at Café Fontanella

They certainly don’t call it Music City for nothing. In fact, there’s not one night in Nashville when you can’t go somewhere to hear some great live music. If anything, the challenge is trying to figure out which place to go. Well, if it happens to be a Wednesday night, how about giving “On Stage” with Damien Horne and fatcat a try?

Aside enjoying the original songs (and sometimes a few surprise covers) from the accomplished singer/songwriter Damien Horne—a man who has a solid standing on the local and national music scene, and fatcat—a songwriter with songwriting credits on the country music group The Farm and Electro Shine’s latest LPs, this is a writers’ round that also features surprise guests each week. Already they’ve had Nathan Lee, Sam and Luke, Trick D, Krista Marie, Heidi Craig, Bentley Caldwell and Phoenix Mendoza to grace the stage with their voices, their personalities and also their lighthearted humor and spontaneous insights.

“One of things that I like about hosting this particular writers’ round is it’s a platform to showcase artists in an area of town that doesn’t have these types of venues,” says Damien. “It’s a great atmosphere with there’s good food. And it’s pretty laid back for the artists and the audience. We do have different surprise guests each week, but one thing that’s consistent is everyone has a lot of fun. And that’s just what music should provide whether you’re on or off of the stage.”

Fatcat agrees and adds, “Something that I can say about the round is everyone who participates is really talented and also very low-maintenance. There are no egos. It’s all about people coming together who do different styles of music and have different levels of success but they all have a way of capturing the audience’s attention. Everyone has their own humor and over time, it has caused the audience to become more interactive.”

So, if you enjoy live music, stop by Wednesday for some cool sounds and a delicious meal too. (There’s no cover, after all.)

And if you’re a local artist and you’d like to participate in the round, Damien and fatcat would love to hear from you. All you need is a link to your music (a social media page will do). Oh, and the ability to play an instrument.

“It’s a casual round but we do want to give our audience music to listen to,” says Damien. “That’s why we prefer guests who can play a guitar, some keys or can bring someone who can accompany them.”

“As someone who’s performing each week, I know how it can develop you as an artist,” says fatcat. “It’s a great way to test out songs and see what captures an audience…and what doesn’t. It’s not just some ordinary writers’ grind. It’s better.”

“On Stage” with Damien Horne and fatcat takes place each Wednesday night at Café Fontanella (4225 Whites Creek Pike Whites Creek, TN 37189) from 7:30-9pm. If you’d like to perform at “On Stage” with Damien Horne and fatcat, email fatcat atonstagewithDandfatcat@gmail.com.
