Multi-platinum Artist Bishop Briggs Fall Tour Kicks Off In Nashville
Bishop Briggs chose Nashville as the 1st city to kick off her “Don’t Look Down” Fall tour on Friday Oct. 8th at the Brooklyn Bowl. The show was well attended with a supportive crowd singing along and giving her reciprocated Nashville love. She made mention about possibly making Nashville her new home.
With a full band and elaborate stage production appropriate for the midsized venue, Bishops rebellious schoolgirl persona and soulful, lush vocals were on point, not being hindered by her energetic, rock fueled presence.
In 2022, Bishop captivated the world with fan favorite “superhuman.” Inspiring critical applause, Forbes lauded it as “brilliant” and proclaimed, “Like all great songs though, Briggs makes the tale universal.” Prior, she dropped the emotionally charged one-two punch of “High Water” and “Art of Survival.” She enraptured viewers with a stirring rendition of “High Water” on CBS’ The Late Late Show with James Corden. Simultaneously, “Revolution” graced the tracklisting of the EA Games NHL 23 Soundtrack and video game, while the MLB chose to use “Revolution” prominently during the playoffs.
She also contributed “Lessons of the Fire” to the NETFLIX original series Devil In Ohio, which dominated the platform at #1 in the US and cracked the Global Top 10 for two weeks at #2.
In 2023, Bishop Briggs now shines brighter than ever on When Everything Went Dark, which has earned widespread acclaim. Atwood Magazine hailed “Baggage” as “an impassioned anthem of empowerment, emotional reckoning, and self-acceptance.” V Magazine touted it on V’s New Music Roundup and proclaimed, “Briggs’s shockingly powerful voice booms atop of a production that blends alternative and techno influences, reflective of the conflict inside of her own inner turmoil.“
Making headlines, Bishop also just emerged as the winner of the latest season of The Masked Singer. She left crowds in awe worldwide with one show stopping performance after another.

Stoned Cold Country Full Album Release
March 17, 2023 – Stoned Cold Country, the tribute album celebrating The Rolling Stones’ 60th anniversary with reimagined versions of the legendary rock band’s catalogue performed by Country’s biggest stars, is out today on BMG – listen to the album here.
Fans can also get an intimate look into the creation of the record with the newly released album trailer featuring studio footage and interviews with the artists discussing The Rolling Stones’ tremendous impact on the world at large, Country music, and their own lives – watch here!
Throughout the record, produced by Robert Deaton and hailed “a love letter to The Rolling Stones from Nashville,” the star-studded line-up – Jimmie Allen, Brooks & Dunn, Brothers Osborne, Eric Church, Steve Earle, Elle King, Marcus King, Little Big Town, Ashley McBryde, Maren Morris, Elvie Shane, Koe Wetzel, The War And Treaty, Lainey Wilson & Zac Brown Band – all inject their own trademark style into the revered music of The Rolling Stones.
The thrilling result is Stoned Cold Country, an absolute eruption of a tribute album that pays homage to Mick Jagger, Keith Richards and the rest of the world’s most dangerous band’s most-celebrated tunes. Featuring 14 vibrant performances of classic Stones tracks, each recorded in some of the most-respected Nashville-area studios by an unmatched selection of the Country world’s most vital musicians, Stoned Cold Country is perfectly timed to The Rolling Stones’ monumental 60th anniversary as a band.
Long fascinated by the The Rolling Stones – and specifically their Country roots – acclaimed Nashville-based Deaton spent the past several years on a specific mission: namely to shine a light on the Stones’ influence not only on Country music at large, but more specifically on some of its most convention-busting contemporary artists.
“Four years ago, I had this idea of a Country tribute record to the Rolling Stones – the greatest rock band of all time. That we are finally here and introducing this project to the world is both gratifying and honestly, overwhelming,” Deaton says of today’s release. “I could not be more proud of the artists and musicians that participated on this album. As the song says… ‘It’s Only Rock and Roll But I Like It’ – I hope everyone will join us in celebrating 60 years of The Rolling Stones.”
On “Paint It Black,” Zac Brown Band delivers an indelible and powerful spin on the thunderous and soul-stirring tune, which was originally released by The Rolling Stones in 1966 and went on to spend 11 weeks on the Billboard Hot 100 – two of which were at No 1. The song was also included on Rolling Stone’s list of the 500 Greatest Songs of All Time and inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame in 2018. Listen to Zac Brown Band’s take on the iconic song, released today with the album, here.
“We got to open for The Rolling Stones last year in Atlanta. When you meet artists you’re a fan of, it’s a surreal experience because they have been a part of your life for so long,” says Zac Brown Band. “It’s like getting to hang out with superheroes.”
Leading up to today’s release of Stoned Cold Country, several hits included on the album have been released including “Sympathy for the Devil” by Elvie Shane, “You Can’t Always Get What You Want” by Lainey Wilson, “Miss You” by Jimmie Allen, and “It’s Only Rock ‘N’ Roll (But I Like It)” by Brothers Osborne & The War And Treaty – who took to the CMA Awards stage in November to deliver a blazing performance of their rendition.
Jelly Roll Celebrates His 1st Number 1 Song On Country Radio: Son Of A Sinner
The BMI building, in the heart of Nashvilles historic Music Row, was the place to be on Weds. January 18, 2023 to honor the genre bending artist Jelly Roll, along side fellow songwriters/producers Ernest K. Smith, David Ray Stevens and Ilya Toshinsky, to celebrate their first #1 song together “Son of a Sinner”. It is the second single from his 2021 album Ballads of the Broken. The song is also Jelly Roll‘s first single release to the country music format.
Jason DeFord, known professionally as Jelly Roll, and Stevens were writing songs together at the Sound Emporium in Nashville, when Ernest stopped to visit the two. According to Ernest, he let Jelly Roll play one of his guitars, which was set to drop D tuning, at which point Jelly Roll came up with the song’s chorus. Ernest then encouraged Jelly Roll to write the verses by himself, as he thought doing so would allow the song to be more autobiographical.
The song is about Jelly Roll‘s personal life as a traveling musician, as well as his personal struggles with “right and wrong” and drug addiction. Jelly Roll told Billboard that he was intoxicated while recording the vocal track. The final recording uses a guitar track created and produced by Ernest, with additional production from session musician Ilya Toshinsky. Tom Roland of Billboard described the song as “mainstream country rock’ featuring power chords, slide guitar and a bass guitar line with “a flurry of notes uncommon in the country genre”.
In the United States, “Son of a Sinner” charted for over 20 weeks on the Hot Rock & Alternative chart. It also debuted on the Country Airplay chart dated March 12, 2022, predating its official release to country radio stations on March 31.
