Music City Hit-Makers Announces 2018 Cheekwood Dates

The critically acclaimed symphony show, Music City Hit-Makers, returns to Cheekwood’s Swan lawn for the fourth annual Songwriters and Symphony Under the Stars on Augst 24 and 25th.  The outdoor songwriter series will extend into a second weekend at Cheekwood on October 12 and 13, 2018.

The August concerts will feature a selection of Nashville’s most successful songwriters including Lee Thomas Miller, Wendell Mobley and Chris DeSefano. The songwriters will perform their chart-topping hits for artists like Brad Paisley, Tim McGraw and Carrie Underwood accompanied by the sounds of the Music City Symphony. Songwriters for the October shows to be announced at a later date.

Storme Warren, television and radio broadcaster best known as the host of The Storme Warren Show on SiriusXM’s The Highway, will emcee the event on Friday, August 24, with The Big 98 radio host Amy Paige hosting Saturday’s show. Details surrounding the October concert lineups are still being finalized, and will be updated on Cheekwood’s website.

“This event is so special because it brings harmony to two of Nashville’s greatest assets, its talented musicians and beautiful landmarks,” says Charles Dixon, event creator and producer. “We are thrilled to have so many amazing songwriters joining us for our biggest year yet.”

Frequently described as “the most famous people you’ve never heard of,” the Music City Hit-Makers consist of writers who have penned hits for Garth Brooks, Blake Shelton, Kenny Chesney, Rascal Flatts, George Strait, Kelly Clarkson, Wynonna Judd, Reba McIntyre, Celine Dion and many others.

Food from Edley’s Bar-B-Que and frozen treats from King of Pops will be available for purchase, as well as bar stations and souvenirs from the Cheekwood Gift Shop.
